Why new workshop cs being uploaded without texture

i ask the same thing. They add things on the wkshop that should be completely finished. if someone put something in the workshop to test it then it should be deleted since the test was successful . These WIP uploads to wkshop should be posted to themekit WIP forum. I don’t want stuff on the workshop that has no business being posted to wkshop.

The workshop should be for finished stuff, only not WIP CS at the moment because it really started to get full of not finished stuff.

Agreed. I am in process of learning Blender and I won't be uploading anything to workshop that is not finished. Of course one might update if one can do better or if there's bugs one hasn't seen.

Now as it is starting to fill up I prefer to see well thought out finished objects.

Another pet peeve of mine: too simple objects with sharp edges and/or disproportionate shapes. But it is more understandable as not everyone are skilled and/or have eye for those things. So it is ok, to be expected. :) It is just fun to see people try their best.

But not adding texture. Another matter.

I used to be a Cs creature in RCT3 in the days and thinking about doing my own stuff, but not sure about blender at the moment because I did a lot of my work in SketchUp. I would of love to see them support a program like SketchUp because it's an easy program to learn and amazing stuff you still can do with it.

Who is to decide if something is done or not?

Maybe the uploader intended to use them the way they are now.......

The items here seem to have been intentionally uploaded to the Workshop without textures. Personally I have no issue with this as it lets me use the models more as modern statues than as exact replicas.

True.. They could maybe used as statues.. But a lot of them are also literally in the description saying they are still working on it or.. Testing.. . I don't know seems kinda pointless to me to upload works in progress. I've been toying with the toolkit but I'm not uploading anything til I think it's ready.

I think the toolkit has some probs with the textures. I created a simple wall with a normal-map texture. I really did everything what the User's Guide told me. But after uploading to your website and downloading into the game, I just saw my wall without a texture. And perhaps that could be the problem which may have the other users, too.

But it's a bit annoying that there're a lot of unfinishes objects.

It is possible to upload to the workshop and keep the items hidden for testing. A nice feature [happy]. I have used it myself for sharing with friends.

I agree; Thanks to the Workshop's poor popularity and discovery algorithm, we will be looking tot that dumb Cube as the most popular item for months, if not forever.

But the cube cult..... :O [haha]

Now there's still a few of them so it is easy to just click on that category and click on most recent to see the new ones.

I'm with Lilibat. That's the kind of stuff that makes it hard to find good things on the workshop. It's still early as of yet so easy to look past.. But look at how many things go left unnoticed on the workshop.. Hidden gems.. Because 1000 people want to upload a bathroom with 4 walls and a roof... Just literally that...

The cube is undead, because no matter how many times you kill it, it will rise again. (the blender cube that is. :D)
