Why no patch announcement?

As far as I can see, the only change to the Launcher is the removal of the "(64 bit)" suffix from the game options.

Quite why this change couldn't have waited until the update is anybody's guess but, hey-ho.
Maybe they identified an issue that would've lead to issues on specific configurations when the update goes live.
Remember when people couldn't play the game because they didn't have the required redistributable? Could've easily been avoided by a client update checking if it's there.

PS
That a potential fix breaks something else is quite ironic but I expect no less from Frontier... ;)

I've never known them announce a launcher update IIRC, its a fairly regular thing I just ditched about 5 old client downloads.

No biggie.

For you (of course), but for some it has caused issues. That is why some announcement or explanation could have helped.

Stigbob was just pointing out that they don't announce launcher updates normally. Which is true (though often they are released with a client patch, so less need).

Given how much grief people have been giving fdev recently about not talking to them I'm a bit surprised they didn't take the opportunity of the update to increase their posts/week stats, but meh, fdev 🤷‍♀️

Installer downloaded in 30 seconds..updated..email in 30 seconds...done. Had no issues at all. Odd how it affects some and not others.

Fun thought ... maybe it was just an update to the launcher that didn't need patch notes or anything of the like and doesn't affect the game in the slightest?

My (and a bunch few others') launcher can't locate the website, and I have been encountering random disconnection fom matchmaking server ever since. I wonder what is this all about.
