It's not just an MMO, much less a trope laden one - it was pitched as more than that - which is why it has attracted players who have no interest whatsoever in PvP.

Indeed. I was mad as a wet hen when "no offline" was announced, and if it hadn't been for Solo staying in, I'd most definitely have gone for a refund.

That being said, I DO enjoy Open, but if it had been the only way to play, I wouldn't be playing at all. Not to mention I backed it because I wanted Elite back, not because I wanted CoD in Space.

If I want a quiet time in Open I can do it during US prime time. Cuz most of the people im more likely to instance with in my region arent online. Ive had enough trouble instancing with all-US wingmates, let alone randoms. Mixed Eu/US/Aus wings arent a problem.
It seems when youve got some tight pings in an instance the networking doesnt like dumping an outlier in to ruin the mix. Wing+friendslist as many participants as possible helps ofc.

I'm a big fan of the cheddar cheese for everyone, but I don't mind the odd cheeky bit of something blue... much like many chaps. What about yourself? It better not have sauce on it, or for any reason grapes with it - that should be a capital offense.

This hasn't much to do with the modes, the game always rewarded the least effort methods. No surprise, nothing new - just don't ask me why.
Maybe the devs have a heart for mindless grinders...

Grapes are forgivable allowing any member of the onion or garlic group close enough for the stench to contaminate the cheese is the capital offence.
