Why not just close open play fdev?

Those who can't accept that no-one needs to play with them, maybe.

Those who accept that the game has no requirement to engage in PvP and that players can't be forced to engage in it if they don't want to, not so much.

And whom do we talking too? Do you really comprehend modes? Robert? We are not alone. Not even in SOLO. Comon !
Solo abuses Open. Period.

So Frontier has no clue as to what is a competitive MP game. Simply put.

All social interferences accure at the same plane accessible to all.

I ride a motorcycle, smoke 20 cigarettes a day and my partner is from Glasgow.

Not all of us play Elite for the risk, some of us get that elsewhere.
i ride a motorcycle too, and smoke 20 a day....... I just don't live in Glasgow.:) doesn't mean i going to move there.:)

i also switch between private groups and solo , i tried open and i found it quite tedious working for a faction that wants to repeat and rinse the same station over and over again.exploring in open is okay but you can only do that for a certain periods before you have to go back to the bubble for your rating credits (in solo mode you can explorer, traded, mine all you want).

Modes are simply settings on the matchmaking system. From the very beginning it has been clear that all players affect the game, regardless of game mode. Anyone backing or buying the game expecting everyone to play where they can be shot at would seem to have bought the wrong game.

A game can be both competitive and multi-player while not requiring any player to engage in PvP. Frontier produced such a game.

What might be termed "social interferences" are an optional extra in this game, for those who wish to engage in them. They can't be forced on players who choose not to make themselves available.

My dad would disown me if he saw me eating that. Nothing is acceptable with chips except garlic sauce, comprising just two ingredients; ‘garlic’ and ‘sauce’. If it doesn’t carry a warning label and I don’t still stink of it three days later, not enough garlic.

In my college days a favoured drunken takeaway sold chips, cheese and garlic sauce as a ’passion killer’ :ROFLMAO:

Oh on chips, Hmm... salt and malt vinegar.

I only read what sauce to cut with vinegar and just thought mustard and red wine vinegar for a salad dressing.

Jeez I'm tired of saying this.

My entire working day is dealing with people. I play this game to escape people. I want no contact with other humans.

What is so wrong about that?
Nothing. Nothing is wrong with your aditude playing ED. Nothing. But, get used to the thought, your not alone on solo.
And while your ad your own, you aren't.

Other players abuse your mode.

Seaside-style in a newspaper cone and a canny little wooden fork. Best eaten with plenty of salt and vinegar, a biting wind and a seagull with no concept of social distancing.
I'm trying go imagine that orange avatar under a 'Kiss Me Quick' hat.

Can confirm I only exist there is no living here.
