Why Powering Carge hatch

I don't see why not. Does he have ADD or something? Waiting 20 seconds won't kill you.

Because someone who sits still for 20 seconds while making excuses just might be stalling while they turn on their wing beacon for a friend who is coming to bail them out.

It sounds like you're still playing in Open. Haven't heard of Möbius yet have you?

1). Jordan is a pirate. His avatar should make this obvious.

2). Some of us actually LIKE the additional challenge of having to deal with player pirates in our game.

Because it's a power drain to stop your ship's power plant from overloading. You think you have saved yourself power, you have instead sealed your doom.

Powerplant overload? Never heard of that before.

How does not using as much power overload your Powerplant?

It was meant as a joke - eventually, all pirates will also move to Möbius. Never mind.

Given the amount of cluelessness extant on this forum, one really can't assume that anything anyone says is a joke. Even if it seems ridiculous on the surface.

It's a safety catch. Unpower it if you don't want to lose all your cargo. And get fined for it.

You know what I'm talking about, the conveniently placed key that dumps all your cargo into a station. Do it in a T9 and you're in for a world of fine.

Or you could just rebind that function to something you're unlikely to hit by accident. I chose Ctrl-Alt-J, personally.

Because your "Power-Plant" doesn't provide power it's actually the bomb that activates when you self-destruct. When you disable your cargo scoop the power you save actually charges the bomb.

It's all fact, just ask Michael Brooks. ;)

Facepalm*

Hah... I'm not sure if I should laugh or cry when I hear that name since it is literally the declaration of the advent of flame war.

On topic:

Keep that cargo hatch powered good sir, you just might run into some cargo repossession specialists out there.

maybe a thing pirates should keep in mind - the trader might not stall, but has to activate that hatch. if i'm not wrong, one can check the target's module status. perhaps an idea to have a look before shooting.

Me thinks someone needs to lay off the Onionhead. :)

It's not that a pirate doesn't want to give a trader time, it's that if we do, there's a pretty good chance they'll use it to log out. I've had it happen a lot.

Yup, I sort of understand the pirates problem, but on the other hand can a lack of patience mean a loss for them. I have been attacked while fiddeling around trying to give them the cargo, and it changed my willingness to cooperate. So I lost my ship and the pirate got nothing but a repair bill.
All in all I think the polite and calm pirate will be the most successful one, for most traders aren't that much upset about the pirating act itself but the way it is handeld. It are the rude, triggerhappy ones that drive traders into solo-mode, whereas the friendly ones get their loot while having a nice chat.
