Well, let's see from what limited time I've had to give to missions:
Mission involving going to hack a terminal to find the location of someone I have to kill.
Taking a trade mission only to be told that I have to take it elsewhere.
Deliver data to a place, message to do it in a certain amount of time.
More data, warned of incoming bad guys who appear.
Return of the kill "x" pirates, a lot harder as they don't spawn to be farmed, feels more like you need to hunt them rather than them come to you.
Hostage missions seem to be back as well but I didn't get to try it out.
I haven't been able to try that many either but it 90% of the cases, something unexpected happened.
Basically, there are a lot of random things that aren't shown in the mission description which make the missions more fun and involving and the mechanics of some have been changed to make them a bit more complicated and that's a good thing.
USS's now tell you what's in them before you either choose to drop into them or not.
There's a lot of good stuff in this patch if you go experience it.
I'll also say that the missions you receive are based on the ship you're flying. When I was flying a FAS, combat missions galore. When with my Asp Exp, trading, courier missions. This also seems factored into the system and what state they're in.
I'll also say that being "allied" with a minor faction will make a hell of a difference to what missions you are offered and the rewards given so efforts are rewarded.
I can understand how mundane it might look to someone who hasn't become allied, or has access to the better missions, because I'm in space I've never been to before on my way to an Engineer and it looks pretty lame.
However, when in space where I have worked to become allied, the options are definitely there. You just have to work to get the benefits and it isn't necessarily only about the credits, the missions can also relate to the BGS and how it affects yours (if involved) or other factions and such.
Oh, and yea, stations, saw a "two" ringed Orbis Station earlier. Didn't look that different on the inside but wee small things like that, almost like variations on the same theme, are always welcome.
