General / Off-Topic Why trump won

No, of course it doesn't mean anything about Trump victory. He won by the rules, absolutely. For the future though, those rules should change. Even Trump himself has called the Electorial College a terrible, rigged system. If his term means abolishing it for a straight proportional vote, then some good will come out of this.

Unfortunately Trump already said that as he Won he doesnt care about the System anymore.
Because well. He Won :p

From the Start the Joke is.
Trump cant even Claim he was Voted by Majority.
Because he actually had less Votes than Hillary Clinton.

He only got Elected because he Won more States.
In Short he had a Small Minority in alot of States. While Clinton had a fairly Big Majority but only in a Few States.

So despite Trump having less Voters. He got Elected as President....

How about some oil for this fire?

Without EC two states and New York City metro area would garner all Presidential attention and power would be even more unbalanced than it already is.

We are a republic, not ruled by popular vote.

Trump didn't win. He just had an opponent who lost more than he did. If anyone won the 2016 election, it was #Nobody2016.

Not that I dislike the EC (it's perhaps the only way I could support democracy), but the U.S. lost the "we're a republic" argument a long time ago (when the 17th amendment was ratified to allow for senators to be elected by popular vote).
