well before I think about biting the bullet and buying the game will it run ok on my system? its a surface book i5 8gb model with gpu, if anyone can advise that'd be great
Its an NVIDIA 940m with 1gb of gddr5
So I'm best just getting the base game to start? What if I ran planetary stuff at a low resolution? How low can it go?
Passmark average scores for the GPU on my laptop - a GTX 960m with an average score of 1,771 - are just under double those of GT 940m (980 points), which is a little beefier than the custom Nvidia chip in the Surface Book. I can play at 2k (1920x1080) at high settings. I get about 50fps in space stations and the same (I think) on planet surfaces from the settings the game recommends when I first play.So I'm best just getting the base game to start? What if I ran planetary stuff at a low resolution? How low can it go?
Can confirm. I run elite on my i7 256gb 8gbRAM SB.
Horizons works very well too! Doesn't even heat up the device too much. I don't usually play it on pc however because I like the Xbox version much better (the community is much kinder, and optimisations seem much better of course) but to answer your question, yes it runs perfectly!
EDIT: People are talking about quality so ill add that I play on high settings at 3000x2000 resolution.

It's actually custom Nvidia! There is no name for it, but it behaves similarly to the 940/950m and that's why windows sees it as that.
oh wow thanks, that's good to know, mines the i5 so guess I might have to knock a setting or 2 down?
