Does Dash not still have a performance impact? It definitely did the last time I tried using it.
None for me.

Yes, and as per my OP, "Better Oculus Dash integration would be one reason".
Pinning windows via Dash in Seemless mode has a massive advantage over trying to pin windows in Void mode - Seemless mode allows you to see where you place the pinned window and is not based on guess work like it is in Void mode. I would hardly describe your experience with Dash as "works with no problem".
Seemless mode also allows you to interact with applications on the fly while piloting your ship providing you use autofocus to keep the Elite window focused. This opens some very interesting possibilities... for example I have a working "Virtual PDA" that I have developed. It allows me to bring up many bits of information you simply cannot access without being taken out of the cockpit under normal circumstances. It also has a fully functional keyboard which is displayed as soon as you open a chat window and has a working 'enter key' (unlike the natively provided keyboard via Dash), works great with the Galmap too. I can also interact with the station menu UIs (and others) via the Virtual PDA using Touch... Honestly, Seemless mode offers so many possibilities...
Anyway, it's entirely up to you where you launch Elite from but if you reinstall with every update and use Dash in game, would it not make more sense to install the game via Oculus Home so you can use Dash at its full potential?
Although I'm not usually watching netflix when I'm busy in CZ. But nothing like that old injector was on my trip to Colonia.
But I honestly think it is close to slim to no impact.
Just a heads up, Netflix and its DRM seems to make the Rift stutter if viewed in Dash, it'll do it in any environment you try and watch Netflix in, be it in Home or Elite. So you might actually find that you get 0 performance drops when using other apps. I watch 1080p video via VLC and see no performance impact what so ever.
I’m not home at the moment so wondering if the update is out for oculus now?
I'm using netflix pinned in my ship everyday when I'm flying in elite during hours and I never noticed any stutter at all.
Great! Thank you!
No problem, 11.08gb it's saying. There was 2 downloads, first didn't say the size, and only lasted a couple minutes.
Netflix was working without a single hitch last night.Just a heads up, Netflix and its DRM seems to make the Rift stutter if viewed in Dash, it'll do it in any environment you try and watch Netflix in, be it in Home or Elite. When I took a quick trip out to California.
As I say, Netflix stutter in Dash is a known issue.
And as I have said in three posts now, an issue not everyone has.
Then again I just use a browser not the actual netflix app, why bother with that bugged out piece of .
Better Oculus Dash integration would be one reason, it's the only reason I switched from the native launcher to Oculus Home and I won't be switching back until FDEV pull their finger out and implement Dash correctly in their title.
