I would like to see PC on sale in as many places as possible.
More people that may never get exposure to PC will have a better chance of picking up this gem.
I can't imagine them not putting the game up on steam. Many people I know who aren't very computer literate think that steam is the only way to buy games for computer. Not to mention that some people just like having their games all in one place. And sometimes people check steam's best selling page or their popular page to discover new games, so them not releasing would have them lose a huge potential audience. There's a reason why it is so insanely popular, and them not showing it on steam or waiting several months could really damage sales imo. I feel that with the extra exposure, they would make more money on steam than off of it even if you do account for the cut steam takes out of their profits.
I know it sucks that they lose out on 30% of sales but its part of the business and its standard practice whether youre selling on PC, Console, Mobile etc. If they put it on Steam they will get a bunch of sales from people who weren't gonna buy the game through Frontier's store.
Don't think of it as losing 30%, think of it as gaining 70% of a sale that you would have not had in the first place.
Eventually putting Planet Coaster onto Steam and GOG can only be a good thing, in terms of widening the market catchment and appealing to those who use said platforms exclusively. For now, the game is already available for pre-order via Frontier, so fans and those intrested will purchase the game regardless.
i tryed to add planet coaster in steam but can only add the frontier launcher and it works... but if i add planet coaster in steam it dont start cause it needs the launcher for it...i only wanted to add planet coaster so can anyone see what im playing [sad]
