I just don't like the design, it's too "racey" for me. Im not in a Formula race, i'm in the midst of unforgiving blackness. God I hope they start mixing it with industrial soon, feels like a missed opportunity.

It is Zorgon Peterson, so not surprising it is be similar to the FDL (It even has the same thrusters) Not a huge fan of Zorgon designs, is the only thing that worries me about the Panther, would have preferred if that ship was Delacy, Lakon or some new manufacturer.

There are plenty of other ships out there thankfully. Personally I really like the look of it.

If the Mamba has slots enough for fuel scoop, DSS, SRV Bay and a sniff of cargo - I could go exploring in it (although it would need a new paint job...)

I like the krait phantom and the mamba new ships...

I am pretty disappointed though by the absence of the long waited panther clipper.

Now i know that there will be a long time before seeing new shiips in game since we don't yet know
when and how the next update will come.

Two, Frontier has confirmed this several times. And since both the Mamba and Phantom are easily seen flown by AI in the beta it's a good bet we are getting those two. And nothing else.

Not keen on the Zorgon Peterson look myself, it reminds me of the 1950 sci-fi retro look.

Mengy - I think you are likely right - but... why would FDev post the Mamba before tonight's Livestream? (Sorry - I'm an optimist) Isn't the 'big reveal' about things we aren't supposed to know yet?

Note: not a criticism, I try to stay polite (mostly), even when disagreeing... It just doesn't make sense what they have done earlier today!

I think FD might be worried about how inflated the hype is around the Panther. If it's anything like the original concept models, it's shorter (though with a stockier fuselage cross-section) than the Anaconda, and probably would look small in comparison with the Cutter. It wouldn't be anything like the elite trader that seem to be hoping for.

They did the same with the Scenarios, before that livestream.

I guess it does make sense, for the majority of players. If they don't announce anything in advance, the ~5,000 who tune in will be delighted, but everyone else only hears about it afterwards. If they drop a lot of details in advance to the gaming media, it drums up great interest before the official announcement, so perhaps more even tune in to the livestream.
