Will this set up get me 90 fps?

I dont know anything about computers but i want to get a vr set up for elite sooo i was looking at this iBUYPOWER Gaming PC Elite Desktop Liquid Cooled AM8480i Intel i7-8700k 3.70GHz, NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1060 3GB, 8GB DDR4 RAM, 1TB 7200RPM HDD, WiFi, RGB, Win 10, VR Ready it looks like more than the min specs to run game but i want it to run nice. Not just barley enough and not be crazy expesive budget like 1500 this one here tho only 1100 anyway what you guys think

Don't buy that, the graphics card isn't powerful enough. Also those specs are pretty unbalanced. An i7 is great, but with a 3gb 1060, 8gb ram instead of 16gb and no ssd... well it's not what I'd do or recommend.

For some ideas of what you can get if you self build with some reasonably balanced computers you can have a look at:

https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/guide/

Note that's for buying parts individually. A pre built computer will obviously cost more.

Be interested to see what other people's opinions are..

Milner is correct ! (imo)
It really makes me mad when a pc is made with 1 high end bit to make it sound powerful but is then gimped with all other parts.
I suppose there is a use case for it but for 90% of folk the pc would be far better with a Ryzen or an i5 and use the saved cash on SSD/ram/better gpu

I have used a 970, 1080, 1080Ti and a 2080Ti with the Rift so can give you a Rift specific Elite performance baseline for each of them. I currently use a Vive Pro for Elite but also have the Pimax 5k+

GTX 970 : Required very low fidelity to hit frametime and still relied heavily on ATW (this was pre ASW)

GTX 1080 : Good entry level VR card. Enables a useful level of supersampling (i ran it at 1.2) and medium fidelity settings. ASW kicked in from time to time.

GTX 1080Ti : Some proper horsepower. Enables high fidelity and supersampling of 1.5 with little to no reliance on ASW. Lowest spec card i would consider for powering higher res HMDs such as the Pimax 5k+ and Vive Pro.

GTX 2080Ti : You can crank it all up in the Rift and have enough supersampling grunt to pretty much hit the physical resolution limits of the HMD. Powers the Vive Pro really well in Elite.

So to answer your question in a more general manner i would have to say that the box you listed is not really up to the job if you want a smooth, sharp experience from even an entry level HMD.

Im leaning towards the oculus but im open and i just want this for vr ive bin plaing elite a couple years now on ps4 and pc is soo much better im ready to make the jump but i have no clue what im doing its all so much to learn

But that site you showed me looks perfect i can buy all the parts and my cuzin can help me put it together when everything shows up and it looks like i can make one for way cheaper and better than a pre put together one...nice!

That's good to hear you know someone who can help, much better for a first build. It's also fun (or I think so).

You can create your own build and share it for people's opinions. I don't think pcpartpicker cover every single part from every shop, but more than enough to get you sorted. Enjoy!

I've recently built a PC, moved from PS4.
I haven't had a PC for over 20 years. No problems, built, loaded Win10 and Elite, job done.

I recommend checking out Scan Computers and CCL, I received excellent service from both companies.

Don't skimp on the motherboard.

Edit: No VR yet, probably end of this year as I'm waiting to see what's happening with new GPUs and headsets.

the oculus rift CV1 is about to get pulled from sale..... and its replacement is the Rift S which will be out in a month or so.

There are defintely areas where the Rift S is a step backwards but over all for people new to VR the oculus RiftS is imo going to be the best affordable VR package on the market.

That said....................... IF you are only interested in sim and cockpit games, give the HP Reverb a look. that looks fantastic... .but sadly only has 2 tracking sensors so for non cockpit based motion controller VR it wont be as good as the rift.

imo these are the 2 headsets i think are the most interesting at the moment... all of the others have good points, but also bad points which for me at least take them out of contention.

WRT Elite specifically... the main worry about the rift S is it is swapping out its OLED twin panels for a single LED screen. I am defintely worried about how EDs blacks are gonna look.
