Will we need to go back to the bubble to play Odyssey?

I know that the question sounds a bit dumb but the point is about the suits.
Will all the explorers out in the black need to go back to the bubble to buy and customize a suit or there will be some option to get a basic one far from populated space too (by synthesis for example) ?

What happened with SRVs when Horizons launched, I can't remember, did explorers need to return to bubble to purchase one?

There might be the option to have the facilities on a carrier, so you may only need a mobile shop to come by.

Worst case scenario, you should be able to pick up a basic explorer's suit at Explorer's Anchorage. Frontier might put some settlements in the same system where you can cash in explorer-y stuff for upgrades.

Edit: nija'd by Gauntlet. :)

I imagine that the default suit we all wear at the moment will let you get out of your ships on a planet, but without being able to perform some extra tasks that the bought suits will let you.

Technically you already have the capability to walk on foot, from a suit requirement perspective I mean.
You have a flight suit that has a Remlock helmet. It engages when your canopy is blown out in battle.

What Denneb said ^^^

When Horizons launched there were no stations out in deep space, so we had to obtain the SRV from the Bubble.

The Dev Diaries have hinted at some 'hubs' or bases being widely spread, maybe as they say 'throughout the galaxy.' Unless I have minsinterpreted this, that suggests to me that equipment will be available to buy or exchange over a wide area of the Galaxy, if we can get to those hubs.

Maybe some friendly Fleet Carriers will carry spare outfits

But it's a good question OP, and worth asking Arthur etc. :)

I expect you'll at least need to head back to Colonia to buy and engineer your new suit and analysis tools.

You might get a suit to start with, but it might not be the best one for an explorer and they're going to be engineerable.

Yeah, I suspect the hubs only exist in stations/surface ports, so probably just where they currently exist.

You'll need to return to civilisation to get upgrades or buy new suits.

Your current flight suit can be used though.

So, no, if you don't mind not being able to upgrade/get different suits.

But that's obvious isn't it? You can't magic things out of thin air, you need to be in civilisation to buy high tech stuff.

Basic scavenger suit as standard issue but you have to return to the bubble to get the others and upgrade them. Decent halfway house imo. Not leaving the bubble until I know more though! :)

The social hubs are in any station afaik. So it could be in Jaques Station in Colonia.

As someone who has wiped my main account twice .... I advise you not to do it.
I am going to sell all my ships .... if I wanted to faux-wipe, I'd find a way to get rid of all my credits as well.
But I wouldn't wipe, there's a lot of things I've done that I don't want to have to redo ... like permits
Mate I have already wiped like 50 times. I literally don't care. 😂

This problem could be mitigated by having a very basic explorer suit by default on all CMDRs, however we don't know enough to assume it would be enough - for Horizons it unfortunately was unavoidable.
