Will you die if your Life support got no power and the cockpit is broken ?
Cause i want to put it on Priority 2 or 3, so it wont use any power all the time.

Ah crap, did not work as i thought it would, when i put my life support on priority group 2, and took out my Hardpoint my Oxygen started to count down, which is not good, then i only have 7½ mins time to fight.
Hmm, guess i have to find another way to get a bit more power then.

Depending on the ship you're in, put other modules on 2 and 3. Put the FSD on the lowest priority you can set it on. You can't use it while weapons are deployed anyway, so you're not hurting yourself.

FSD and Fuel Scoop, if you have one. mine are both set to 3 and it lets me run at 104%, which in turn allows me to run a KWS

I don't normally use the scoop so I turn the cargo hatch off permanently until I need it for something but then the weapons are stowed anyway. Check your other systems, what are you NOT using when you're in combat? Fuel scoop, cargo hatch, docking computer and so on.

You can also upgrade the life support for more time if you fight with it off for power reasons. The power cost doesn't matter since it will be off but you get much more time. And retracting the hardpoints to power it back up will reset the timer.

Erm, you know what...after that post I still don't know if it recharges or not...

-- Pete.

It doesn't recharge. (Side note: that's the not-very-hidden meaning of the 'cabin pressure restored' message when docking with partially depleted oxygen supplies)

Go outside of a station, turn off the life support. Watch the countdown go and turn it back on. Wait a second or two and turn it off again and the timer resets.
Obviously it won't refill if you're cockpit is busted. The life support is your suit and chair I believe. When it turns off it cuts the line from the life support to the rest of the ship that's still full of O2 (unless the cockpit is blown)

I do this all the time in my power hungry vulture.

You'll die eventually cause you'll run our of your emergency air. And we all need O2 to breathe... unless you're a vampire... a SPACE Vampire...

Well...now I'm going to be on the lookout for space vampires/have nightmares...spacemares?. Thanks for that, I'll never lurk around the dark side of a planet again.
