it seems, that Wing Missions (assasination) are not important to the majority of the players, although its for me.
I was very happy when frontier announced that wing missions will be implemented (something that i was waiting very long for). During beta of 3.0 i already saw major issues on cmdr platers livestream as he was testing this with his fellow commanders. As the Wing Missions (i only speak about assasination here) looked so broken in the stream i thought they will not make it into the release or the post beta bugfixing would take very long as Problems seem to be corresponding with the Wing network code issues that are still in place since the wings were included into the game.
After trying the first wing assasination mission with my friends i was very suprised that it (somehow) worked. Ok the Mission critical Signal source wasnt the same for all palyers of the wing, so that everybody has its own SS -> immerse breaking but ok, minor issue. But there were no ususal wing formation problems like:
1. Wingmates shown as unknown without shields in the wingman status icons at the middle top of the screen
2. Wingmates not seeable on radar or just juming around as a wing signal
3. Nav lock was working and all players jumped into the same signal source
I could not believe my eyes. It seemed to work. Can it be true? Everything that did not work since several years works now? Fixed in just 3 weeks? Unbelievable.
Unfortuneatley not ;(
After several tries all problems are back. Forming wings unstable. people get kicked out or are not seeable on the radar. after half an hour reforming wing until the basic problems are overcome, dropping out at the mission critical signal source failed. some players are in a void singnal source while one player is with the mission target.
Looks like a lot of work has to be done until these things work seamlessly... I just hope it gets priority.
