Wing beacon enable/disable? Why???

Can I ask that it is assumed when you are in a wing you will like the beacon enabled. I cannot see any tactical advantage being able to turn it off and on.
When not in a wing you can't set it... Obviously but why do we even need to enable it???
What is the reason to be able to switch it off and on?

My suggestion... When in a wing... You have a beacon on... Simple!

Since the new UI, I suspect that they are planning for more options in the future, squadron beacon comes to mind, and we get a beacon for squadrons, then a beacon for your Power in Power Play should not be to far fetched.

Anyway, having a list of preferred order of beacon to activate would allow us to set a default beacon based on the current status. Even it this list now only would contain one element, Wing. This would make it somewhat future proof for new beacons.

there is no reason why squadron would need a seperate beacon. that switch is totally pointless.

THE ONE AND ONLY thing that would make sense,
is "distress beacon" and "looking for group beacon"
to make you visible for NPCs and other player,
while the later would probably call in more griefer and ganker then actual wingmen candidates,
so call it "looking for PvP" beacon

Now there I can see a reason for a switch. Just hard code wing beacons as assumed on. Any other beacons, distress for example can be multi. Distress for all, distress for squad or likely abused distress to suck u into a trap! (which could be fun)
