Ok, Added some more videos to this. I think I have covered all the possible combinations for doing the COMPOSITION SCANNER in a Wing.
The first ship to scan gets the 50,000 if it has not already been cataloged. (Probably limited to that region of the CODEX)
Also, it is interesting that this is the same planet I was on for my original 3rd and 4th finds and neither of those exist anymore.
Also found out that two ships in Wing on opposite sides of at least a small (<1000km radius) body can each shoot a probe and between them get 100% coverage but neither will get the EFFECIENT SCAN BONUS.
