It is definitely system authority ships which scan, not the station itself. If you are scanned as you enter boost in and duck out of line with the slot. If you get out of line of sight before the scan completes you are safe.

Any information on how this is implemented. is it a 'simple' "if (ship.type==sidewinder) scan_chance -= 20;" kind of thing, or is it 'modelled' to include additional factors, such as hull size, heat output, ship condition, suspicious behaviour (e.g. detected ship in silent running), having pirate decals plastered all over the hull, number of previous crimes detected as committed by the pilot etc.?

Is everyone else getting that?? I have been getting it when traveling at supercruise across a system, especially if the station i am traveling to is over 100k LY..

Great news, I will head there when I come back to populated space again. Perhaps the station could sell an decal to paint onto the our ships, something like :View attachment 22334
One thing I really like about this game is that FD are not afraid to use names from real life, too many on-line games panic and remove any well known names in the game. I've already hunted Jebediah Kerman in game and there was a thread of screenies of these from elsewhere on here.

It's amazing that something was done so fast! Don't want to sound ungrateful, just description is bit ambiguous. How can I tell what change did on our end? Is our exploration reward status doubled, or should I subtract some numbers from the total required for next level?
