If your comrade flying with you on your ship and tried to scan gift stashes, he'll probably will not get them at all.

This is very sad and I hope someone will fix that.

He's awfully busy until New Year, I took him to the gift stashes myself, so he can only exit the ship and scan.
So there's a little problem with "flying on his own ship".

Anyway, I'll try to force him to take a little time for Elite. IF this will work.

This is an universal answer to ANYTHING regarding Elite.
It's not working too.
We need to be more objective. This is a bug, not a personal thing.

Disembark and scan is just a matter of seconds.
Meanwhile, flying on own ship is a huge pile of time.
Feel the difference?

A player is actually reporting a bug (and it is a proper issue because it SHOULD work and it only highlights how unfinished MC is) and all of you are just dismissing him because "this bug is not important to you".
I mean come on...

I mentioned this on the first day of the Winking Cat treasure hunt. I think it's because the wingmate is using your SRV, not their own.

If I'm understanding correctly:

OPs friend is sitting in telepresence multicrew. This means that they cannot gather materials, or beacon scans etc.
It might work if they are in physical multicrew, and can get out in an SRV and scan for themselves. I don't know if this actually works, I'd have to test it.

To guarantee he can get them, OPs friend will need to fly there themselves to get the scan. If they are using telepresence then, unfortunately, it is working as intended.
