Real multicrew doesn't work with the gifts. That's what I tried, even deploying two SRVs at once, plus returning from supercruise with only the second (passenger) commander doing the scan.
When the second commander returned in their own ship with their own SRV, it was fine.
Yeah, and I pointing to this bug, but people here...
Do you know if the multicrewing CMDR can collect materials with the SRV? If they can't do that, then it looks like it is exactly the same situation, and working as intended.

Well, obviously. Each CMDR must earn their own gifts. Earning all three gifts took less than an hour.
Like I said this is critical bug for us.

I haven't tried that. (Talking about the Scarab being controlled by the mc cmdr, not two cmdrs sitting in a Scorpion.)
It is yet to be established that it is in fact a bug.
Even if it is, it's not going to get fixed before the deadlines expire. If your friend can't get there themselves to get the scans, they will unfortunately have to be resigned to missing them.
The only critical bug I can see is the Empire giving you a Courier instead of a Cutter.
They didn't even give you a Cutter discount.
Critical bug is not a matter of your perspective - it's a kind of bug that makes the game unplayable and has no workarounds.
This is not a critical bug. It's something that's obviously annoying in certain circumstances, if it's a bug at all.
You have submitted bug report, so that's good. You have warned people here on forums - kudos to you. If your friend will be unable to get those gifts by himself, then you can contact support.
Yeah, this bug make the limited time gift not available for my friend. So it's pretty critical.

Pretty much got all of those lately, but still nice. I searched on the forum just now, but I can't find a post detailing the location of these gifts. Did someone post this somewhere?
I suspect he has actually been doing quite a bit... of naughtiness!
You're friend has obviously made Santa's bad list, and won't be getting any presents this year, save perhaps a lump of coal.
