Horizons Wireless EdTracker Soon

My original EDtracker 2 is still going strong after years of abuse. I think I might upgrade though, I am on my 9000th cable and my desk looks like a joke with the HOTAS, keyboard, mouse, headset and ED tracker all running wires everywhere!

Mine is one of the first self built units and drifts all over the place. Never did mount it in a box :)
You're right about the cables.

So this answers the question of where my next expenditure will go. Strap this to the top of the wireless headset I've got and Robert is my Dad's brother.

The dongle is bigger than ideal, I'll need to run a USB extension to remove the risk of knocking it but no biggy.

...or you can just buy the ir led tracker w/ps3 eye cam. Here a complete kit is under ~20€. The only drawback is with bright sunlight rooms, but that would interfere with the monitor display too :) I was using one before I got VR and was pretty happy with the performance, despite sometimes locking due to turning head too far. Example http://allegro.pl/freetrack-cap-120-z-ps3-eye-alternatywa-trackir-i5930577060.html . The seller is a really nice guy, I think if you asked you convince him to sent abroad.

I have recently bought the wired pro version and have asked if it can be modified to wireless or if the wired customers can get a discount.

Wired can't be modified, I'm afraid, no - the hardware is physically different.

Discounts, well, the honest to god truth is we need to recuperate a lot of costs and given the demand, much as I personally would love to do something like that for existing owners, we simply can't afford to. But I like to think we've priced it very sensibly anyway - we were originally eyeballing a number quite a bit more than £60+vat :)

I tested the ALPHA build last year at Lavecon, It was downright awesome, and I know it has been made better! For budget head tracking, the ED TReacker is hard to beat.
And a wireless version is exactly what's needed , good luck with the launch o7

Bought a wired pro to replace my free shaky NOIR tracker - worth every penny. Headset cable and tracker cable tied together so not too much of a problem. Highly recommended bit of kit, thanks to all involved in its development. I assume the wireless one will need recharging periodically or will it have a changeable disposable battery?

It has a re-chargeable battery built in that lasts roughly 10 hours before a top up is required.

Well mine arrived today and all I can say is WOW. It has undergone a vast improvement (not that the wired was bad) but it seems so much smoother and has individual settings for Yaw, Pitch and Roll.

This is a really good piece of kit and well worth the money. My wired one is now resigned to the shelf in the beyond :)

I don't have the need for the forward and back to be honest but everything else is there.

It is so smooth and rock solid with no drift after 4 hours playing last night, would be lost without it now, especially in a CZ as I think it gives you the edge.
