My son received a few giftcards for Christmas (associated with a well known High Street store chain dedicated to selling consol/pc games and associated peripherals) and was itching to use them, however he'd also received the games he wanted too, and really didn't have much of an idea what he wanted :S, so we had a bit of a discussion, and he decided that a new 'Wireless Gaming Headset' would be a good idea as up to this point we had been using a mono-aural Orb Elite Chat headset.
After having a look at options on the internet we decided that the wireless 420 X might be a good option and duly set out to check available options in store. Chatting with with the manager about in store pricing of the 420 X v's the internet offer from the manufacturers web site and in store availablity of other options we finally came away with a pair of Turle Beach Stealth 600's. We have Dolby Atmos installed and they're compatible, they also natively conect to the XBox like a controller without additional dongle, they have separate volume controls for chat and game audio balancing and are very comfortable to wear.
Eventually very much later that evening after he'd gone to bed (school in the morning) ....I got to try them out too with Elite Dangerous and WOW !. I didn't know there was an audible que when the mass lock warning light comes on and goes out....but the most remarkable thing for me was when I was aligning to enter Obsidian Orbital, travelling at about 95 m/s and got overtaken by a Beluga I heard it's approach from behind and over my right shoulder before I saw it come into view
.
at c.a. £85 (currently cheaper in Currys) I would heartily recommend this headset.
