Wireless USB ports for using semi-wireless HOTAS for Elite

Is this a thing? Could this be a thing?

I hate being tethered by wires when playing Elite in VR. I want to be free! Free?

If it's not a thing, it could be a thing.

Here's how I see it happening:

First, let's use Arduino. It should be fast enough, I think.

There are two (maybe three) asynchronous processes
Question: Will timing be a thing?

USB interface to computer
Broadcast Module
Receive USB from computer
Convert USB signals into a format to be used for wireless transmission
Transmit 5ghz signal to wireless receiver
Receive Module
Receive 5ghz signal from wireless receiver
Convert wireless signal into a format to be used for USB
Send USB to computer
Synchronization module (Optional?) - Everything that gets sent and received through USB goes through here to make sure the signals are in sync
Receive input and order them by time synchronization
Output in order of time synchronization
Waits till next packet in sync arrives before continuing to send data

USB interface to wireless - Similar to interface to computer
Rechargeable and battery powered

Could this be a thing?

Aside: This is not related to this post, but could a Vive Tracker be used to track head tracking?

BTW - I also play Elite always in VR. Have done so for over a year. The only way to play and the very best VR gaming experience there is...

That being said... Who gives a crap about wires? I sit in my comfy chair and do my Elite VR thing. I DON"T want all the headaches of a wireless config. I don't want to have to wear batteries or suffer any potential wireless interference. I don't want all the extra complications to get all the wireless stuff hooked up and communicating. A single wire runs up from my Oculus to the ceiling over my chair. It is suspended by a couple of retractable "badge holders". Who cares? Your sitting in a chair anyway!

I posted the wrong link... Check again... I use several of these for a bunch of different things (inc remote Arduino re-programming). They even work for sharing software licensing dongles!

That's pretty awesome. But it kinda expensive.

How is the latency?
