Hi guys, I got the HP Reverb and can't seem to play Elite. I've got a couple of problems, I was wondering if anyone had encountered them and could offer some tips?
1. I can't recenter. I've only ever been able to recenter once. It was after it wasn't working, and trying anything, I decided to run the boundaries setup. Right after that, it centered fine, but that method doesn't help anymore. What happens is, if I try to recenter in Elite (or any other game that has this feature), I see it flash for a second to the centered position, then it reverts immediately back.
2. I use the Valve Index Knuckles and Vive Controllers. I have had to run OpenVR Space Calibrator to get everything synced up. Only problem is, everything about this constantly breaks. If, for example, I do any kind of room setup on the HP Reverb through WMR's menu, then the Space Calibrator is misaligned. Thing is, I have to do that all the time because WMR constantly forgets I've run it and asks me to run it again, or it forgets where I've set the floor to etc. It's really getting a bit of a hassle now. Is there a permafix?
3. WMR crashes a lot. The screen goes blank, and WMR's window has a spinning icon that I've never seen sort itself out. Restarting WMR doesn't help, I need to log off and on. Ugh.
4. I have a bluetooth dongle, but I can't seem to get my Valve Knuckles connected through it, I seem to have to use my old VIve Link box, which I'd ideally like to free up to use on a different computer. Is there any special method to get them and the base stations connected via the dongle?
5. The tracking seems pretty bad. Even when I get the vive base stations and valve knuckles working with steamvr, it seems like the tracking is still camera based. Is there some special method to get the tracking working with the base stations?
These 5 glaring issues aside, I am really in love with the HP Reverb and WMR in general, I think it's great. But these issues though...
Anyone fought with and overcome them? Can you lend a fellow traveller some aide?
Also, if anyone knows how to set it so the mouse, by default, is on my desktop rather than in the WMR VR interface, I'd much appreciate that too...
