Wonder how Asp would do with 6 rail guns?

Might be neat to be able to replace you shields and other internal components with extra energy banks for weapons. They would add to your overall charge time but you get more pew pew before you run out entirely.

Cool

Did you have Class 2s on the Medium Hardpoints or Class 1s ?

all maxed out, 4 small and 2 medium, also i am now experimenting with heat sinks and want to try 6 railguns against anaconda.

eagle/side=1shot kill
cobra 2 shot kill
almost 2 shot kill for all other ships except type 9 and conda (didn't meet those yet), but type 6/asp/viper are down to couple % hull after 2 shots :)

Does this work when they are allready engaged. The video made the impression your basically lining them up for a free first hit (and a semi free 2nd). Which makes it nice and quick but is kinda cheap as well.
Maybe the AI should be more aware of beeing near weapon deployed Ships that are facing towards them?

i killed anaconda with that setup 1vs1, it was fast fight at start, but after i lost shield cell banks and heat sinks it turned into boring fight as i had to run away too many times, but it's doable :)

so if your aim is good enough (i didn't use rail guns for 2 months so i am not good enough imo) they have no chance whatever they do - they just die before they can react because they are not flying erratically like PC's would (you need to hit once small ships and 2-3x medium).

enemies can't outmaneuver you and even if they do then just move away, turn around and annihilate them head to head, the only (and very big) disadvantage is ammo count - it's good for only short term fights, also heat can be a problem..

here's another video and some of them are trying to engage but there is just no time as they must kill me in couple seconds while we are facing each other :)

That is just sick... :) Do you not get a headache after a few volleys with those guns? Made me a bit nauseous watching the vids. How many heat sinks do you get through in a day?

And don't you feel just a tad guilty about all those poor Sidewinders?

I killed War Essence with a quad C1 railgun setup on my Viper. Used up nearly all 30 shots on all 4 rails so they are only good for a single Anaconda engagement. Awesome fun though:D

LOL, i do, but they're wanted and npc's, so basically they are screaming "blow me, blow me" ;)

i just tried this setup today for the first time and was impressed with result as i thought there is no way i can deploy all 6 of rail guns, but after i upgraded my power plant i had exactly as much power as i needed.

then i figured out that i need heat sinks and bought 3 modules, now need to catch the right time when to eject those - i was thinking something about couple seconds before you shoot...

and fighting is always tiresome as it requires maximum concentration and i can't fight for longer than 40-50minutes straight, so i wouldn't compare bounty hunt or any other combat with trading/missions/exploration at all as you can trade all day long but i doubt you can fight same amount of time ;)

fun fact: i was so used to running away from interdictions while doing trading/mission runs that when i was interdicted today i pressed boost automatically.. and then with a smile turned around and annihilated that wanted cobra that tried to pirate me, old habits die hard ;)

wow, so many hits? anaconda is really a great ship now, as it seems :)

Yeah I was doing between 5 to 9% hull damage to him per salvo once I got his shields down. It was a medium range engagement so its possible that not all 4 rails were always hitting the target. Plus I missed quite a few shots when I had to dodge his plasma accelerator..

At close range I can 4 shot a Cobra and Haulers and Sideys go pop in 2 solid blasts :D

The Elite Anacondas can take a hell of a lot of punishment. Ive killed quite a lot of them now mostly using quad overcharged multicannons and it takes a load of strafing runs.

It can work I think. Depends on your skill ;) But this setup is better for surprise attacks I guess.

Be nice if the ships insta exploded if the damage they would receive would take them say to -10 or less percent rather than it stop at zero tumble for a few secs then boom....

that was my problem as well, as head to head conda shot plasma accelerators at me and i missed many shots :)

i hate more when target drop to 0-3% hull and still are able to move and shoot at me, in video there is a cobra that has beam turrets and those turrets do damage at least one second after ship hull is 0%, but they are automated and probably that's how it should work :)
