i would love planetary landings with different weather conditions.
like getting out of my ship in a blizzard and trudging over to the main hub through snow and returning later to see it iced over and steam coming out the vents stuff like that

Philip; you must know Planet landings will be (phased), -DB said. This means, playable elements. If you want to call this half baked -(your term), that's the breaks. FD can't throw the completely finished planetary landing module at you as a whole.

I feel calling this method of FD's sensible, not half baked.

Your statement described Davids comments as rubbish, which is just another way of saying that they aren't true. This heavily implies that you don't think it's going to happen. Which is why I asked the question.

Even if you might think that Davids comments are rubbish that doesn't change that they are still the best "data" we have available, or do you have a better source of information?

I'm not saying that everything WILL happen...what gave you that idea?

  • Offline - They have told us it's not going to happen. THAT is the latest word on the subject. Things changed.
  • "Godlike powers" - I agree that was a bad description during the Kickstarter and personally I found it totally unnecessary even back then. Having said that they might still try something going forward, but personally I don't really care about it.
  • Gold rush - There have actually been some in-game trials of this several months ago with some events taking place. Will probably be expanded upon further as time goes by.
  • etc. etc. - Hmm...I think you need to be more specific...

So, what more do you have to share?

Well, that's the thing then. Other than offline mode (that I personally wasn't very interested in) I really don't see all these "broken promises" people keep going on about. Just because things haven't been implemented as fast as we might have liked or exactly the way we personally would have wanted it, doesn't mean they "lied". So personally I see no reason to doubt him to the degree some seem to.

This:

Stop using old quotes as things that WILL happen, like you know. You don't know and if David's old quotes are anything to go by, then most likely they won't and FD will "go beyond our original vision" and deliver something (like CQC,PP) that you, me or anyone else knew nothing about.

I'm still waiting for those quotes though. You'll see they look a lot like David's planetary landing quote.

Things DO change, like ED for example or the "vision" or offline or god like powers or PC as their primary platform or the list goes on and on, yet you still use old quotes as thing that WILL happen just the way David said they would, You don't know that, you're guessing and hoping.

Unless you're just using "WILL" power in an attempt to keep David to his word?

That's all? I thought you would prepare dozen more quotes? :D
