Working SLI profile :D

Appreciate the response on this topic. Didn't take into account the fragmented windows universe. Guess it would suck for those who enjoy 7 or 8. Personally I never experienced any problems with any version of windows. Maybe I'm lucky. Don't know. But from a marketing perspective it makes sense to develop on a platform that is compatible with all versions of windows. Too bad for Apple though. 😂😂😂

A
that is the exact reason I like vulkan so much :) all the low overhead principle of dx12 but for a bigger audience, linux, windows vista~10 and mac (eventhough that bassically is linux) which is why I hope vulkan adoption rate will be bigger than dx12 (it is also easier to port from dx12 to vulkan and around compared to dx11 to dx12/vulkan) :D

(I'm alsol pro-vendor neutrallity. which amd is, and nvidia never will become as they keep things to themselves a lot :c )
Sadly Vulcan isn't supported on OSX - you have to use Apple's proprietary Metal API. Also worth noting that Vulkan support on Windows and Linux isn't guaranteed, and requires the very latest display drivers (can be a problem for laptops and older desktop cards). Also the API is very new - the latest version was released a couple of days ago(!).

We're working really hard to push DirectX 11. This means people with Windows 7, 8 or 8.1 will get the best performance possible. DirectX 12 is a really interesting new API, but it does require things to be done significantly differently in order to perform well - this would make it harder to switch between 11 for previous windows versions and 12 for Windows 10. We feel the effort and energy is better spent driving DirectX 11 well (we're doing some really cool things "under the hood" in Cobra to make this happen) which will give better performance for all. At the moment the profiling data we have suggests that driver overhead isn't our limiting factor, so a switch to DX 12 would not immediately lead to better performance.

Cheers

LOL, nevermind, i need to read more.

As the title says, after a little messing around I have found a way to get SLI working for NVIDIA users by using NVIDIA Inspector

DX10/11 bits: 0x080200F5 (Max Payne 3)

Predefined mode DX10/11: 0x00000004 SLI_PREDEFINED_MODE_DX10_FORCE_SFR - (I chose SFR as when I use AFR & AFR2 I see shadow flickering)

EDIT: Can use AFR or AFR2 too, at the time of posting, I didn't realise my SLI bridge was loose and causing flickering not the rendering mode

The setting for how many GPUs to use is up to you.

When using the above settings at 1920x1080 at High settings I get well over 60fps and at 3840x2160 at High settings I get between 40-60fps which isn't bad considering I'm using 2xGTX970s and SLI isn't officially supported yet. Most SLI users should know how to change the bits and rendering mode, but if anyone needs help, I'll happily explain how to apply the bits to the profile.

ENJOY! [big grin]

Hey,

It was working great with the ALpha 2 but since the steam release of alpha 3 my game crash to desktop soon as i'm getting in game.
Im the only one ?

It also makes my computer freeze...

Only since alpha3...

Thanx !

Yeah it's not working for me in Alpha 3, but I'm going through the different SLI bits testing them, the best results have been with the Batman: Arkham City bits but there's now flickering when the game transitions from day to night, tabbing out and back in sometimes fixes the flicker, but I guess we'll have to wait for full release for official support from either Frontier, NVIDIA or AMD (if CF uses bits I have no idea) I dont mind using 1 card and switching back to 1080p from 4K for now

Any news here?

My 2x 1070 SLI Setup is waiting :D

Is anyone running SLI mode?

Man, Last post was in wut, August?

There is no update on SLI, But wait for the release of Planet coaster and see if Nvidia release Drivers for the game. That's all we can hope for in terms of SLI profiles for now.

Yes, I´m a quite reader here for month :D My only question is, if it is possible to use another SLI Profil from another game via Nvidia Inspector.

I´m looking forward for a reaction of Nvidia.

I´m Running an 34" Scrren with 34400x1440p Resolution - so I need both of the cards for a good FPS rate :D

Thank you so much for finding this working SLI profile. Planet Coaster runs great now at 3840x2160 on my 4K G-sync monitor at mostly 60 fps where it lagged extremely before when running on 1 single card. Thanks again [happy][up][up][up]

***UPDATE***

This SLI profile causes issues on my machine, some shadows are too dark, some texture issues and some things has some weird glow. See next page for screenshots.

This is on Planet Coaster ver. 1.0.0.35860

I did some further testing on this SLI profile on my machine and there are some glitches like some shadows being too dark, some textures issues and some things has some weird glow.

It doesn't matter if I use AFR, AFR2 or SFR

This is on Planet Coaster ver. 1.0.0.35860

So until Planet Coaster gets SLI support and Nvidia releases a SLI profile there will be glitches unless someone can come up with a working profile.

Here is with SLI on

Try the Batman Arkham City profile, work great exept some lighting problems wich disapears by Alt + tab the game.

I've e-mailed nvidea about a driver a few times now. No response. Kinda reminds me of frontier not commenting on path+tracks intersection with gates, lights, & bells for the Connie Express! So 90's building over or under paths. Kinda like waiting on sli profiles.

Frontier did makes a statement about sli on reddit they said that they aren't supported it because of how the game is coded, lighting effect and more are not multi gpu friendly in the cobra engine version for planet coaster.

But how big is your park? I can get 60 fps on a single 1070 at ultra settings but when the park grows that fps number decreases.
