Actually I think they are doing marketing wise very good job with Planet Zoo. Slowly reveal things, maybe sometimes let leaks on purpose somewhere to keep people hyped but they didn't get them to see those actually for some time. Keeping interesting animals longer to wait for like red pandas or gorillas e.g. Imagine if they reveal something like polar bears or flamingos or penguins week before release and I have a feeling they might do that.
Ultimately they said at release we will have 50+ animals which could be 55 or 100. And most people doubted it will be a lot more then 50 actually. Next they revealed terrarium animals and first it was terrarium animals doesn't count in that number so later they corrected themselves and people start to accept that terrarium should be in that 50+ number. And recently from data leaks we descovered 10 more species on already confirmed 50 species. Not to mention that still there aren't habitat animals from South America, Europe Polar/Arctic and Australia. I guess eventually we will have those 50 species without terrarium animals. At the end this thing when they accept to include Franchise offline mode when they already said it will be just online.
So I think they are doing marketing stuff pretty much on spot with this.
