Worried about future DLCs and the paid content we will be getting

I am happy to be getting more animals . This may be a small pack animal wise but i am sure there will be bigger ones somewhere along the line , The bottom line is Frontier have a workforce they have to pay the wages of plus overheads on their building . If you think this DLC is poor then look on Origin at the stuff packs for Sims 4 and see how little you get there for double the price of this DLC

I’m really hoping for otters at some point cause they are my favourite animal but I will understand if they will never make it to the game because of their swimming or whatever other reason...
You hope to see them in this game because you love otters. Me too my favorite animal is Orca. That's why hope to see them in this game.

I didn't come here to argue, and I'm leaving. 👋

No arguing intended, but this game needs to be educational and while zoos used to be places made just to amuse people and not too much thought went into animal welfare as it goes now, having big marine mammals, like orcas or whales should be frowned upon in every state and country. Given the fact that most of them are extremely intelligente to, living in a tank obviously make them dull and depress in a sort of way. Plus, the size of the marine mammals doesn’t go well with tank, no matter how big, they need an ocean to swim free. That’s the only reason I strongly believe that they shouldn’t implement them in the game. It has to teach people good values and respect for any form of life, marine included.

THAT is an awesome scenario I'd love and the absolute perfect content strategy!

Oh, phew, good, I'm not the only one. Actually, it's a little embarrassing what few species I already played with. First off, I am in the annoying situation that I have to work and earn money to support my living and then... as much as it surprises even myself... I'm a builder. I spent most of my time in pause mode, build "beautiful" habitats and scenery, plop animals down, hit play for 5 minutes, pause, build. :D
My biggest zoo has I think a bit over 20 species. I can't even imagine having to handle more at once.

Maybe a separate game for marine animals is better. Like Planet Aquarium. but there is no problem that they are in this game.
In the meantime, there are water facilities approved by large organizations that contain animals such as killer whales or dolphins. but these are more rare than zoos.
And I think Frontier trusts these organizations. because recently Frontier performed a live broadcast with the San Diego Zoo staff. San Diego Zoo is an approved facility.

I can understand where the OP is coming from, to a certain degree. Though this is only one DLC, one that was clearly pushed for a Christmas release, if it is the beginning of a pattern then it doesn't bode well. How can you expect your players to be satisfied with, say, an Australian DLC with four animals, two scenarios, a building set, and nothing else? There's a lot more in Australia than that, absolutely, and if we got, say, the freshwater crocodile or the lace monitor instead of the Tasmanian devil I'd be livid. Already I've seen people suggesting that Frontier might do another Arctic DLC down the line with the animals we actually wanted in it, like the Arctic fox and wolverine, but I don't see that as being likely, and we're all going to feel a little ripped off if they do an animals-only DLC for five or so bucks that includes animals that should have been in the main DLC in the first place (I'm reminded of The Sims 4: Pets and the following My First Pet Stuff - what an utter travesty that was).

That said, I'm neither willing to get my hopes up or willing to make broad assumptions. As I said, this is just the first DLC, pushed for a Christmas release, so it's not a good gauge of what's to come. The next DLC will either create a pattern or surprise us.

Unless 100 animals were given away for free with 1000 new building pieces, 40 scenarios and a every bug fixed and also five free games thrown in for good measure it is very difficult to please everyone with a DLC. Those who are unhappy tend to shout louder but I would say quite a few people are excited for this. Some people want animals only but everyone has different views on how many it should be. Some of us enjoy the scenarios and some will never even try them. Some people are excited for more building pieces, some may never use them.

How many of use really know how many man hours from concept it takes to fully integrate a new animal into PZ so it is ready for release, I suspect there is a lot of different teams involved so 4 or 5 new animals a quarter would be more than enough to keep me happy but there is so many in the base game I probably won't be through them all until next Summer anyway.

Remember, somewhere around 70 animals were in the game at launch, if someone doesn't want to pay for 4 more then they will have hours of fun without it. There is absolutely no need to buy DLC to enjoy PZ. If I had a choice between a McDonalds meal or a PZ DLC, which are similar prices, I know which one I would go for and which would give me a lot more hours of pleasure.

I don't think this thread is about the price.

4 animals in a DLC that is released a month after the base game implies, to me, that DLC released maybe 3-4 months apart could contain more animals than that (possibly 4-5 + exhibit animals) as well as other features (new buildings/track rides/staff) and building themes, just based on how soon this is being released. I could be wrong tho, at this point we are making inferences off of near nothing.
