I don't suppose they exist in ED.

But then I wondered if anyone had ever found a stellar-synchronous ELW, the published ELW data lists do not include such rotation/period data.
I'll keep an eye open for one, and it would be nice if planets like this could be included in the new era.

I suspect that won't happen until we can land on them and they have to become dynamic planets rather than just a random selection from a limited range of planet textures...

Yeah there's not much you can do until you actually start generating the system icons from the planetary features, and since non-landable worlds don't have those yet the generic is the best we will get.

But there's another interesting thought generated from the latest geo research, that plate tectonics and the associated vulcanism on earth was generated from a primordial asteroidal impact that shattered the once homogeneous crust surface into distinct plates, if that's true we may actually see far less vulcanism on most ELW than we do on earth (in real life of course, what happens in ED stays in ED).
