Would the sound dpt. pls stand up (and go on live stream) pls.

I said it before and I say it again:

The work of FDs sound dpt. is awesome, it is the part of the game that never received substantial negative critic, isntead it is applauded by most players since the beginning.

They sure know how to create atmosphere and cool effects. They haven't been awarded by the game industry enough for this, the work is not matched by any other space sim I know about. Now, watching the asteroid explosion on the beta release trailer one can savely say they did it again. You guys rule and are one of the reasons I cannot let go of ED!

I do not know if it had been done before, but I feel it is certainly time to get the sound artists on one of FDs live streams soon. I'd like to see them and hear how they work, what inspires them and so on. Space is supposed to be silent and I am so happy that FD is not sticking to realism at all here.

Ed & crew if you are reading this, pls. make it happen.:)

Cheers,

Kate

Sound is one of those things that we should not have in space.

But the quality of the Elite Dangerous sound is so high that I couldn't play the game without it.

It's not just the cherry on top of the cake. It's part of the cake itself!

I'd love them to do one of those 'Discovery Scanner' deep dive streams on the sound department's work. Never mind their work being unmatched in another space sim, it's unmatched in most games regardless of genre.

But yeah, if they're reading this and don't actually want to get involved in the amount of work one of those would take fair enough but take a bow guys and/or girls. Never had a bad word to say about your work.

I remember to see the Head of Audio (Jim Croft) in one of the live streams like 2 or 3 years ago, I could thank him and literally told him that he was/is "a beast" in the chat. Thankfully he read it and replied to me instantly (also I asked some questions as well of course).

There is a video in where you can see how the sound works and the name of some audio developers in there:

Edit: Ninja'd with the video.[haha]

Also found the part where Jim was in one of the 24hrs live streaming at 4:14:26 mark:
