Would you buy a single player narrative DLC for ED?

I never play in solo but i would for this and pay for it, as long as it is long enough and in depth enough without too much repetition.

They have this sort of thing in oolite, downloadable add on missions, quite good too and most of them quite in depth.

I’d buy it just so I could see the reaction on the forum from the ‘open only’ brigade. Pull the pin in that grenade and watch the forum explode.

joking aside such content could be highly useful. Case in point I’ve done absolutely zero Thargoid/guardian content, I wouldn’t even know where to begin, so a DLC guardian story that took me through the guardian sites etc would be fantastic.

No, probably not. I play Elite to create my own narrative as I play the game, not to follow someone else’s path on rails thing.

But then I’m not usually interested in story based games as a rule, rather I go for sandbox and more emergent style games.

"Story mode open only! EEEEEE"

Nope, not what I'm interested in ED for... incidentally the single player stuff is what I'm looking forward to in SQ42.

No, definitely not, assuming you are talking about handcrafted missions and story.

However, I'd be willing to pay a pretty penny for a procedural story DLC that offers significant improvements to the mission system so that actual stories with fleshed out procedural characters with different methods, motivations and goals begin to appear as emergent behaviour.
