When I asked Michael about this he said that they're selling prints of the concept art as part of the add ons for rewards.

I looked it up and sure enough there they are on the app at elite.frontier.co.uk

I have a feeling that they might have a problem worth just a book full of concept art - maybe if it was expanded slightly...

i wasn't just thinking of pictures, i'm sure there will be enough text written between now and then to give a fairly good impression of the features of each ship and what each one is like to fly in lore terms, if a group of authors got together they could raid thier own notes for descriptions of hyperspace travel, in system combat and a whole host of other universe related content that would be seen as an extravagance in a 'space traders flight manual'

an (in)complete pictorial guide to the universe and the type of things you can expect to find, after it's published the web site it spawns could be maintained for users to add their own experiences to what could easily become 'the hitchhikers guide to the Elite galaxy.'

you never know, it could be fun! :D
