Would you pay a subscription?

Hey all
Title pretty much says it all, if you wanted to play online would you be willing to pay a subscription fee? Say £8.99 a month similar to other MMO's if it meant we were all on one server with no player limit per area, no cash shop and free regular updates and bug fixes.

Single players would not have to pay the fee.

Thanks

No. I would not want to pay on a monthly basis, when I cannot be assured that I'll get my money's worth on those months. Thus, I never play any subscription-based games.

no, absolutely not, I'd rather they shut the MP servers.

I don't buy MMO's and I sold my xbox as i hate being charged twice for the same thing, buying the game is expensive enough without having to fork out subs every month.

£12-15 per year, paid in advance I would consider but 8.99 a month is too much money out of my regular budgets to make it acceptable.

This could be a poll? (if we haven't had one already!)

And no, i don't play MMO's for a reason, and monthly fees is one of them. I am however happy to pay for expansions etc (even though i will get them free due to my bid, i will donate some money to FD when they come around).

No, I've already payed more for this than any other game, and I don't do suscriptions
your £8.99 a month example = £107.88 a year....for a computer game...screw that!

I probably would but would end up grudging the pay after a year or two...

I would like to expand on an alternative method for funding FD:

- FD provides a continously updated list of new functionality (i.e. land on planets, 1st person, etc etc) it is looking to develop.
- FD provides the target fund required for each development package (sets of functionality)
- We, the public, pledge via paypal any donations from zero to something
- once said target amount is reached FD schedule the functionality for development

Necessarily, this wouldnt require any additional planning from FD (assuming good industry practice) but would require decent (6 month) lead times to allow for the necessary funds to be achieved...this way we can all invest (those of us who have money to spare...in areas of the game we would like to see developed). I think this would be better than paying for credits with RLM or in-game boosts etc etc OR monthly fee. Agree/disagree?

I already subscribe to a game for both me & my partner & I couldn't justify two subscriptions.
I would have to choose between a game we've both played for 8 years and a game that only one of us is interested in.

So, no.

Nope to paying a subscription and this is why I'm not averse to them have an income stream to support services by selling ship items like Decals etc. I have not problem even them selling ship items just as long as you can buy them for free given time by building in game credits. If someone really wants to use daddy’s credit card as they say to build a ship fast then that’s there choice. If it adds to the security of the game and further free stuff being added I have no problem. In my view they might be missing out on the struggle to buy things that appealed to me in the original.

Take a look at War Thunder the free-to-play MMO, its totally free and they rise income from selling things. I really think if David came out and said right we are selling 1000 Credits for £5 but we will use this Money to add new content that will be free and support the game longer. Who would grumble ????
