Would you start over if Frontier was to start a separate open only server?

I fight the best in the game on a regular basis and get my cheeks clapped almost all the time. A lot of that is because I fly a FAS instead of a FDL but still, very few can hold their own against the best in the game.

so you reserve the position of being the hottest s--t in the galaxy for yourself I guess. fine with me, I don't care. If you want to find out if I'm full of it or not you can add me in game and fight me, try to gank me whatever your desire is.

note: this is not meant to be a discussion about whether it will happen or not, if Frontier can afford to run another server or if it would be worth running it business wise. It is not a call for telling us why you don't play open, or what you think the motivations of gankers are, nor it is about whether it's worth splitting the player base between servers.
OTOH it is an experiment to see how long before the moderation team shuts down this conversation as it's about open/pvp and not about riding the rainbow together in love, peace and understanding.


I would move over to that server, as in my opinion the current way of shared galaxy is the biggest problem plaguing this game. Power Play and BGS are just frustrating with getting undermined from solo/pg, and that is what supposed to be the endgame content. Opposed to popular belief, that all gankers were molested as children, the lack of competitive content is what drives the more experienced and established players towards ganking. At least those that wish to play in a truly competitive cut-throat galaxy would have the choice.

I play OPEN only now...spent too much time getting Engis done and an ELite rank. Was fun, but not fun enough to do again.

and your point is? I said I don't participate in organised events so you won't see me there. you can ask your friends if they know me too. ask eller, jazod, harry potter, tigerpunch, l'intouchable, firefox..just to name a few. I have fought those guys, I won some,lost some to some of them lost all, but I didn't melt in seconds like most these forum warriors would do.

I agree...As an open player, I have never intiated PvP fight, and in almost 900 hours, have been attacked...3 times. Nerf the penalties for pvp death, BIG TIME, and make game Open only. problem solved.

I would not start over JUST for open-only, but I would start over for a radical rebalancing of the game. This includes a functional, immersive economy, more realistic weapon damage and defenses, a more realistic flight model, a complete rework of engineering, improved exploration (with a rebooted and repaired Stellar Forge), and all the other crap that can't be fixed in the current game because "the horse has left the barn".

In fact, one might argue I will be starting over if I switch to Dual Universe or Starbase as my primary space MMO when these games come out.... 🤷

Open only BGS is a very good option in the future. Our hungarian player faction is almost the biggest in many categories in Elite Universe. And we always fly in open, check the commanders with netlogparser, and builded up third-party aplication for tick, missions, and with discord bot to show stats of each cmdr. We have own rankup system, and controlled almost 70 high populated system, and we play in OPEN. I hope one day Frontier will reduce the effect of BGS/Solo transactions, or make highest reward for missions (in influence) made in openplay. BGS pg/solo undermine is ghosttown war, where you fight with ghosts, and you cant do anything.
