CQC WoW Already?

Day 1 and already rampant cheating in CQC, most of what I have seen is the infinite shields cheat. I don't want to hear "its lag", a lagging player does not continue to fly around and get kills when I have been firing on them for the past 30 seconds with their shield rings at 100%. Remind me on the rules of naming pilots? :p
 
Are you sure that they haven't grabbed a shield booster? Because there are a few scattered around and it can leave you with 100% shields for at least a few extra second (if your opponents aim is bad, then even longer)
 
Generally with the shield booster you see the gold or yellow rings around them, in the most recent case my self and 2 others hammering on the guy and no budge on the shield. Generally when the player in question has zero deaths though multiple Death matches.From here on out I will be playing CQC with Fraps on to catch such moments but I have yet to observe any bans on reported players since launch.
 
I believe I saw cheating today with hull health, enemy ship with no shields, 14% hull, under 300 meters, fired at it for 30 seconds, and then someone else came and killed me as I was firing at a ship that would take no more damage.

1/ The dumber the CMDR name, the greater the odds they are a griefer or a cheater.

Report them, move on. It might take a few days for FD to sweep up any people who are cheating.
 
Yes, I`m pretty sure I got a infinitive shield guy too yesterday - no not the gold booster shield - regular one. Best is just to report and move on.
 
Make 100% sure it is a cheater. I am dumbfounded about how many players don't know how pips in shields work. I am sure I could have been called a cheater yesterday after I took out plenty of ships with full pips to weapons. While I had full pips to shields and outlasted them every single time.

I am also pretty good with power distribution, and use 4 pips to shields to flip the script on people who try to ambush me 1v1. If I manage to survive to turn around it's usually because the person isn't properly distributing power and I almost always kill them.

That said however... I am seeing a lot of things indicative of cheating and I've only played ~10-15 matches.

Things I've seen so far:

Getting out-ran by a rank 13 Condor when in a rank 12 Condor equipped with efficiency boosters and engine focused distributors. When I say out ran, I mean he was about 20-30% faster than I was and left me in the dust very quickly. The possibility of a speed power-up is not possible here as our engagement started near the edge of the map with no power-ups nearby.

Collection of power-ups that have not regenerated yet. I'm completely certain the power-ups did not regenerate while the player was flying through them as the only graphical effect that occurred was the one emitted from the ship the power-up activates on, and not the breaking effect of picking up the powerup.

Multiplied weapons damage. Again, not a power-up thing. I only witnessed this with two players so far (both in the same match, likely winged with each other). They were using Plasma Repeaters and were able to kill me in under a second with four pips to shields and shield boost power-ups. I'd estimate maybe 2-4 projectile impacts had to take place before I popped. Needless to say they won the game by a landslide, and of course with zero deaths.

Needless to say I don't think I'm going to play CQC until something in the realm of working anti-cheat happens.

Um, guess we'll never see you (or me either) in CQC until FD implements server-client architecture that can actually host anti-cheat software.

Yeah... I'm mostly blowing smoke cuz I'm excessively frustrated at CQC... But I will say that if I keep running into cheaters I'll likely make good on my threat. I understand them coming out of the woodwork on the first couple of days. Either way though my CQC activity will be significantly reduced if not eliminated completely over the coming week or two while things settle into normalcy.
