Modes WOW CGs in open have got really toxic haven't they!

Back to the game after a long layoff and thought I would try the CG at Maia. Was getting a bit bored in Mobius so decided to ship my cheap Cobra over and see what all the fuss was about in open. Not making that mistake again! Not a rant, as I was well aware of the risks of open but not sure why anyone would want to run the gauntlet of engineered PVP builds who sit there taking out unarmed Cobras!

Lesson learned and thanks to Mobius for providing a safe haven!

Lol

Yeah, evenings and weekends at CGs in Open are no go zones.

But I don't actually get to play on evenings and weekends, so I can happily attend a CG in Open, and usually leave with more friends on my friends list, who I will promptly forget how I met them, and never see again. Lol
I rarely get ganked or anything.

If I do find a 'hot' CG station, then it's game on! I'll set my crew inactive, and/or switch to a more fun ship, and do blockade runs.
My Python is pretty good at it, big enough to be useful, and tough and fast enough to not be a flying coffin.

Rares CGs are my favourite in Open.
Don't need a huge cargo hold, so I grab the Cobra, and see how long I last. Lol

But should space be safe? Dum dum dummmmm

Could CG locations have improved and more effective system security? I mean, they are BOUND to generate a lot of traffic and this will be very enticing for PVPers, and they should, even when their actions are justified RP wise, have some challenge thrown at them. Maybe trade oriented CGs could also have parallel activities for players to provide security. I am sure this has been brought up already.

Same answer to all of these threads. The thing that is missing is a fully fleshed out piracy/outlaw/crime/justice/bounty hunter system.

Something that is at least slightly realistic, that stops people who just want to be an example of male genitalia, but yet provides real game play for people wanting to play a pirate or outlaw, and those that hunt them. Something that still has risk and reward, but in a way that makes sense.

When I first heard about this seal clubbing I thought that it would be really cool if a couple of wings of max out vettes could come in and take them on. But then I realized that the probable outcome of that would be the same as some punk/bully being challenged on even ground: They would run. Cowards are like that.

Whats the security rating in Maia? And why are you piloting an unarmed ship?

Yes for all ships, including the aggressors. I see zero risk for the people doing the killing. No one seems to hunt them (before someone says go for it I do not have an engineered ship so it would be a bit futile) I tried a quick run in my A rated Python, including SCB, point defence and chaff before people jump to conclusions, and did not even make it out of Maia's no fly zone :0

No big deal tbh. You got killed by a spaceship firing weapons at your spaceship in a multiplayer spaceship shooting game. Good game I say.

No big deal indeed. I can just go into Mobius. My question is why would anyone in a ship capable of carrying out the CG play in open? I cannot see how you could build a ship capable of doing anything but running if you are to have cargo racks etc.

Genuine question, because I quite like the adrenaline rush of open, how can one make a Cobra that is capable of surviving a station blockade in open without resorting to engineers?

don't know, but a Cobra that can do 800 m/s is not so easy to catch.

Like you Cmdr, i love the 'Hot CG's', and again like you i have an un-armed Blockade runner a 548 ASPX. Yes sometimes i lose, but sometimes i win. I have no issue with these guys, they are out to kill traders, and i am out to deliver goods. GREAT fun.

Whingers and moaners, get over the griefing salt sobs, get a blockade runner and have some fun. Pit you evasion skills against their combat skills, this puts the Dangerous back in Elite Dangerous.

You ain't gonna get in the top 10, 10%, 25% of sometimes in the popular one's even the top 50%, you are gonna get a few rebuy screens, but like Cmdr Cosmic Spacehead, get a cheapie Cobra and the rebuy screen is not that big at all, but you will have fun and you learn an awful lot.

Why is it considered toxic that other players are trying to prevent a CG from being completed? Isn't it part of this whole "blaze your own trail" shtick?
