Wow did this just get sneaked in the latest patch...If so awesome news for pirates and bounty hunter

Well It will need testing by others but it looks like if you submit to an interdiction now, you get no damage but the FSD requires the normal cool down period. Just had it happen 4 times in a row in an anarchy system, was loaded with gold in my cobra as pirate bait and was interdicted 4 times by pirates, so decided to test if the throttle to zero>submit>charge FSD still worked and NO it didnt each time there was the usual FSD cool down period, but no damage recieved in the interdiction itself.. If its true its freaking awesome....

I noticed the same last night. on a couple of interdictions.
However, I'm not good enough to have 2pts of hull damage mean the difference between a win or a loss! :)

I think we may see a lot of traders parking up their tubs for a few days, already the posts are coming in...............I'm going to make some popcorn and see what the NPCs at RES are doing..... :)

You always had recieved standard FSD cool down after submitting to an interdiction, rather than the extended cool down for loosing the mini game.

This is a great step (I'm a trader BTW not a pirate) but I think it should have been left out until the wings update was out to give traders an option to defend themselves.

So if you set your throttle to zero when being interdicted and submit you can boot straight away without a cool down period?

Been like that for a while for me, maybe introduced with 1.1, if you fight it in any way you're penalised. Otherwise, immediately submit, pips to engines and away we go.

What I am saying is its now or certainly appears to be the extended one not the short one (5 seconds i think it was or something like that) now its more like the 45 second one even on submitting to an interdiction.

Not sure I follow, what has changed exactly? Is the cooldown faster than the normal speed it has been up to now?

No in the tests I did, normally if you submitted to an interdiction you had a shorter cool down period, today in the tests I did when interdicted (immediately set throttle to zero and submit) The FSD took the usual 40+ seconds to cool down, the same length as if you lost the mini game. But no damage was done if that makes sense.

FD have confirmed previously that this is how it should have been all along, and I welcome the change, just think it should have been shelved until we traders have wings update for protection.

FD said they were going to increase the FSD cool down timer in 1.2, even if you submitted.

They may have introduced it now.

I really hope they can keep it that way, should make my trading runs with my defenseless Type-7 a lot more fun.
