wow..is this new??

Elite now feels more like an average day cruising around Riedquat in certain situations. Brings back memories of fingers crossed and full speed ahead trips to the station like in the previus games.

Yup, fight those interdictions. You'll win most of the time. Tip, if you are near a star or planet, try to get as close to it as possible and then turn away. You might throw them into an emergency stop.

Monk's right...
Cool story-
I was in the Pirate Guys area a few days ago just killing his transport ships (Hail Patreus!) for some undermining action. Nothing against him or his kind; I was just learning how the whole power play thing works...

So there I was, just racking up a bounty in this system and look who enters the system- A CMDR Monk in a lovely Type 7 or 9... Something like that. So after a quick debate with myself, I decided to pay him a little visit. I finally get on his tail and I'm about to interdict when he pulls a stunt I have never seen before. The same one he detailed above...

It worked like a champ.

I can't remember if it dropped me or if it simply broke my interdiction, but nonetheless it's a great tool to use. I'm not going to go into the specifics of the maneuver since that takes away from the fun of discovery.

After that, I decided to leave the system. If he knew this trick, I am sure he had others. You never know if there's a wolf hiding under the wool of a lamb.

So hats off to you sir for the lesson you taught me that day, and a bit of Rep to you on this day.

Haulers are actually quite quick - you should be able to outrun most, but be prepared for some insurance claims. PUT SHIELDS ON! My T9 was buffed after I lost one to a persistent NPC. Since shields don't regenerate in SC anymore a persistent NPC can wear you down if he follows you around - and they do of course. Note that you still have to do a few things when using turrets. You do have to fire the trigger - you don't have to be looking at the target - just pull the trigger. Also manage your pips. Depending on the target you may have to put some pips into weapons. You will have to stow weapons when jumping so make sure you have enough shields left to cope with the final few seconds when you can't fire back. Worth mentioning - if you want to stop the turrets firing but not stow weapons then you can just switch to the next fire group. Then when your capacitor is back or heat is down or whatever just go back to the fire group that has the turrets in and pull the trigger. Since I buffed up I've beaten off vultures and killed eagles no problem - but I dread the day a Conda interdicts me!

Yeah this is seriously getting out of hand. I don't mind the interdictions in Anarchy systems but in controlled and busy systems it doesn't make any sense to be chain-interdicted.

Just flying to a popular system last night, I got interdicted once as I was about to approach the station. Evaded the pirate to be interdicted a second time by another one. Evaded him to be interdicted a third time by again a different one! Three times in a row is just beyond ridiculous.

Just like the original 'Elite'. It deliberately makes progress slower.
