WOW! My Docking Computer Started SHOOTING AT THE STATION it was supposed to be docking at!

I had just let the DC take over and it was heading towards the Finney Dock station at Eleu, when all of a sudden my T7 deploys its weapon systems and starts hammering the front of the station with its BEAM LASERS I just installed! :eek: :S At first I thought I was being shot at from behind until I realized the lasers were coming from MY SHIP!

Having witnessed other DC madness that ultimately cost me my ship, I saved and quit the game before waiting to see the Fed Ship response to the aggression INSIDE the no firing zone!

All I can say is ?

How was that even possible?

No they are Gimbaled Beams. I was going to put turrets on but there is a BUG on the T7 front hard points for that type of beam. It deploys the right hand one pointing backwards at your hull instead of forward facing like it is supposed to be when deployed. So... I had to go with Gimbaled.

Is there a known bug with Turreted Beams related to them firing on their own? If so, we can also add gimbaled Beams to the bug!

Man! That was the most bizarre thing I have yet to see in the game! Glad I wasn't out having a smoke this time! Who knows what I would have returned to! lol!

Really? That is incredibly bizarre.

Here's one thing to check. Hit Start, Run, type in CMD, press enter and then type in assoc and press enter.

If the second last line you see is:

ZFSendToTarget=CLSID\{888DCA60-FC0A-11CF-8F0F-00C04FD7D062}

then you have been infected by Thargoids!!!

Seriously? You're joking right?

I am not sure how to enter in all those various commands you listed, but if you can be more detailed as to where I will find START, RUN etc. on the XB1 keyboard pop-up, I am willing to check your theory.

Infected? That doesn't sound good! :O

I guess I should report this on the BUG forum, but hard to categorize what happened.

I also just had a BIG SCARE! After all that, I decided to shut down the game and the XB1 and do a cold start and then reboot the game. When I clicked on FULL GAME, I go a loud 20 second BUZZZ and the game quit to the Dashboard! This has NEVER happened to me before. Not at this point in the login/load process.

I really thought my game save had gotten hosed, but thank god on the second attempt it loaded fine and I am now sitting in the hangar at the Finney Dock station.

My T7 has never been into deep space, only being used for short hop trades back and forth in and around the Eleu system, so if this is some kind of Thargoid infection, I can't imagine where this particular ship could have picked it up from?

I am going to assume this was a bug. :)

I was getting around to LIKING your HAL PHOTO HotWings! :D

Most appropriate in this situation! It was unsettling to see your ship deploying its weapons and firing on a friendly station all by itself!

Reminded me immediately of one of my favorite original series STAR TREK episodes.... "The Ultimate Computer!" ;)

Just noticed that I have a 50 credit fine over at Eleu from the security services. So... I didn't imagine all that! lol! ;)

Impossible.
Your docking computer can't do that.
There must be another cause.

I've had that load buzz and then quit to dashboard aswell, but it was every time i tried to get to a nav beacon in a system i can't remember the name of.

I don't have a dc but do you have to map it to a fire group? If so, could your beams be mapped to the same trigger as the dc?

Bikertox, No DC's automatically engage by throttling down to zero. Not buttons needed to engage it.

I have had the Buzz drop to Home during load. Usually turning off the Xbox and unplugging it to drain capacitors usually fixes the problem. It has been reported in the Bug forum already.

First i have heard of the DC opening fire. I did have my DC run into Lave Station in Reverse in my ASP. :D
