WOW the RIFT!!!! my first day with it!

Dont really want to go to bed I spend probaly like 14 hours in it today! A LOT of it in Elite!

I want to take it to bed with me really - I am in LOVE!

Ist like one of These Christmas eves where you get an amazing toy thats just awesome and than some! Which is rare enough even though all christmasses I had were great as a kid! But there will always be some Special memories...

If past me had ever had the RIFT under the Christmas tree - he would have selept with it in his arms at night!

Ist pure Magic... nothing I ever owned Comes Close to how much of a game changer it is for me and gaming!
I spend like 2 hours in Luckys Tale totally at awe carried away into a different world... tried many experiences - loved the trex in teh Hallway, loved LOST!

But when I finally tried Elite I was basically overwhelmed with emotions! I could not believe it! Even thoug perole here wrote wonderful Things about it but really nothin can prepare you for the first Moment you sit in your own ship!

I always loved my ships but wow this is insane and has to be experienced as many before me have said! I have a place to go now- I have my own other reality where I own a Starship! OMG I switched to my FDL because I wanted to have all the shields possible to try fighting in a res with this new overwhelming experience.

WOW I am great at combat as it is but immediately the rift changed my skill Level through the Roof! I didnt have headtracking before and now I can just look around and follow ships easy and above all have a real sens of 3d positioning and the maneuvers I flew today were already better than anything I did before... The sky is the Limit now!!

WOW flying through asteroids bounty hunting fells sooo different.. I have around 1000 hours with the game but it was a diffrent Thing - I just didnt want to stop playing I want to move into my ship with a bed and a fridge! Did I mention i didnt eat today, totally forgt/had no time for that nonense....

WOW I will Play this forever and ever!

Finally I gave Eve Valkyrie a go but the Default controls with the pad were      - grafics looked great though! Not sure if I ca use HOTAS with it, if I guess it can be good fun too but I think I am not having much time for it as Elite is just soo much more!

SO my childhood dream of flying a spaceship came true! I look Forward to tomorrow!!!

Oh and than I just checked the E3 News and there is a VR Star Trek game coming Star Trek Bridge Crew where 4 friends can Play with Headsets together and one is the captain, one is helm, tactics and engineer! WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT!?!?!?! Another childhood dream Comes true?!?! I be Kirk on the Bridge?!?! WOW

I am one happy camper! :D

The first day with the Oculus Rift is really amazing and it felt like a totally new game to me! You will recognize so many small details in the game, that only make sense now with the 3D look. The ships are massive the view is astonishing (try out the ASP) and walking around the cockpit gives you a massive immersion. I love to fly around with my CV1 and just enjoy the ride. Try out the SDK (Software Development Kit) and play with the pixel density (depending on your GPU).

Yes, you can add your Hotas as with a customized binding configuration - it takes 5 minutes to configure the few buttons to it. Check those instructions here...

Thanks oogie the Video i sjut what I Need when my new pc arrives! thanks :)

I just got my Oculus a few days ago. I feel exactly like you do. I feel like a kid again. I'm a little worried that this is going to seriously mess up my life. lol

I also played Project Cars with it and that's amazing also. Kart racing in pCars is finally fun.

Yesterday, I messed around with the pixel density in Elite and the image was so much sharper. I still have to find the right balance. But yes, it's like your childhood dream of being a star fighter comes true.

Remember the movie "The Last Starfighter" where he goes through this simulator to prove his piloting skills. Well Elite in VR looks way better than that simulator did. But as a kid I just wished I could play that game. This blow it away.

Oh, yeah, I tried Lucky's Tale last night. So amazing and jaw-dropping.

I'm with you guys apart from my controller conflicting issues which I intend to resolve when I get home tonight. All I did was take off.. fly around the output and then land again and I was absolutely amazed. Question, how do you guys manipulate the galaxy map?

YEah I remember that movie! :D And I also wanted to Play that badly ;) now we got something soo much better who would have thought?! :D I still dont get over it how awesom eit is!

If I had to make a choice lets say between owning a new Porsche 911 and a kickass Computer with Rift and HOTAS - I wouldnt even flinch... Rift in a heartbeat I cant live without my spaceship now :D

Same feelings here. Got the Rift a few weeks back. I must have sunk a full week of continuous real-life time in Elite since. After messing about a bit, getting various tips from the forums including the debug tool tip, I am at a point of pure bliss. I can see past the little graphical anomalies now which was distracting me initially and just be immersed in the experience. :) Rift + my CH HOTAS = A grown man giggling like a 5 year old. [yesnod]

Got my CV1 yesterday. Giggling -yep, godrays -not a big issue, they aren't as bad as I feared, size of EVERYTHING -WOW, debug tool at 1.5-great. Running on a GTX 980 and I5 2550 oc to 4.2 ghz -smooth. Between ED, DCS and Iracing, I cannot see ever playing on a 2d screen again. Happy as a pig in poop.

Did find glasses annoying I have a big head, -bought some air flow contact lenses -perfect.
