Wowzers, GTA V in DK2!!!

*tsk tsk tsk*

First GTA is created and described as "Elite in a city" by the developers and once again they are (unofficially) following in the footsteps of Elite.

Always a step behind!

Kidding! Spent whole last week playing GTAV! :D

I downloaded GTA 5 last week (all 65gb of it) and then downloaded VorpX but for some reason, the VorpX registration code got emailed to my work email address. I spent the whole weekend cursing VorpX for making me buy something and then not sending me the access code.

Will be giving this a go tonight. I don't expect it will be as good an experience as ED but it's def time for a little break and perhaps come back once 1.3 is up and running.

Please report back on the experience as I am close to wanting to pull the trigger on GTAV for the pc now that it "may" have DK2 support.

I'm waiting for a stereo camera mod from the community or some type of support from Rockstar. Like what Alien Isolation did, un-official yet still implemented.

I got this set up with VorpX, and have tweaked it to work pretty well. Its good, but its not true 3D VR. I dont get a feeling of true depth or scale. Compared to a natively supported game like HL2 or ED for example, which are great on both these counts, VorpX feels very much like a hack job that simulates VR but doesnt really do it properly. Maybe this will improve with updates but Im hoping it gets native support down the road. Im personally going to park it until they do.

(Its still way better than playing on a monitor tho)

Thats because at the moment it is using z buffer 3d with Vorpx, so it won't be as immersive until Ralf has implimented Geometry 3d which he is working on now.

Check this out :)
