WTB Anaconda Paintjob

Yes - I've been saying the same thing for over a year on this forum. They have the assets and could monetize them at virtually no extra cost, but they just don't seem to want my, or your, money!

yes it is rather strange. I know a lot of us would just be like "take my money" when it comes to these paint packs, I have 4 or 5 already mself and would buy more if there were more available . (DBE military pack wold be very nice)
but maybe the numbers don't add up at frontiers end or something.

Also the winners of the competition. no offense to their efforts or anything but every one except the cobra i really dislike. Gaudy colors in awful patterns. yeah I think FD should stick to making them lol. Although like i said th cobra one works well :p

- Interior! Stuff I see every day looking around my Ship... how about a Wooden look? Marble look? With modified and matching interior lighting? Crystal glow? Interior Color that changes with Ship heat? Cockpit Lights that all go dark Red when in Combat? Glass cockpit? Reflective Chrome Interior?

Gutamaya carbon fibre trim. Shut up and take my money!

There are about 8 skins in game for the Anaconda. It's a same we can't have them.

This. I could have thrown up I was so excited seeing the white with red thrashed paint on the NPC'S Anacondas back in the 1.4 beta. I thought for sure we would have them soon after. But everyone's right, the opportunity has already left. I'll be keeping my Anaconda but sincerely doubt it'll be my daily driver anymore. Especially if surface enemies don't have chaff or "play the circle game" (you know, the one that allows an NPC to constantly monitor your thrust, Boost, yaw, pitch, and roll to keep just the right amount of space to stay out of your weapons no matter what you do)

At this point I'm 100% convinced that FDev simply doesn't like money. Any company making an online game in 2015 should have had a strong strategy for digital cosmetic creation and sales. It should have had its own team of 2 or 3 people with the goal to release at least 2 skins/month (or more). And it should have been doing something like bi-monthly competitions with the community to take some of the creative load off of their shoulders.

They've left so much easy money on the table by NOT offering more digital cosmetics it actually frustrates me. Especially coming from a TF2/Dota 2/League of Legends background where those companies have laid the blueprint for how to do micro-transactions-for-cosmetics right. Valve and Riot have already done all the work; all FDev had to do was copy the strategies. Horizons probably could have cost half the asking price if they had been on top of this.

smh.

Its a problem. If FD did launch lots of skins, people would complain they are money grabbing not-nice-people. Whereas now, since they do not have many skins, people complain they are money grabbing not-nice-people.

Oh, right.... erm... yeah, they might as well release more skins :D

well you're going to get those kind of people whatever they do, just look at the number of people who think Horizons should be free lol :p

Not to understate the effort involved but as someone who works on indie games and 3D animation i know it's not a huge amount of work just to add additional diffuse (color) textures. the UV mapping is done, the normal/specular/occlusion maps are all done, there is clearly a market for more skins with plenty of people (myself included) who do not see it as "money grabbing" so come on FD let us have more options :D

Bump.

Dearest FD skin design team.

About 200 CMDR's will shortly leave on a very long trip to the far sid eof the galaxy. There are about 50 (probably ore) Anacondas on this trip, an donly 3 skins (if you count the stock skin).

Please... How hard can it be to drop tactical, military and vibrant skin packs?

Thanks.

From memory, some of the entries were actually very nice. I don't thinkt he best skins won, but, this could also be for technical reasons...

Hard work done for those skins, no doubt - which is why they *should* be released! That competition was ages ago, now...

C'mon FD, many of us are waving money in your face! Just reach out...

I would like to add my voice to this thread. I wouldn't buy the bananaconda I'm afraid but would be interested in other options.

Just wanted to add my support/interest in more paint packs as well, and the earlier post quoted above perfectly sums up my thoughts. It's truly baffling the way they've left money on the table by not offering more paint/cosmetic packs -- particularly for the later-game ships the players most invested in the game (and thus most likely to spend money on cosmetic stuff) actually spend most of their time in. We have one paint job for the Anaconda, a couple for the Python, none for the FAS, etc., yet ungodly accounts for ships like the Sidewinder and Cobra.

As great as FD is on the technical side (graphics, audio, flight mechanics, etc.) and big-picture vision, they really have no clue about modern mission design, gameplay balance, and monetization strategies.

As has already been said, NPCs have alternative skins and we do not. The Conda, one of the pride and joy ships of the game has ONE alt skin and a black skin to be given for pre-order of Horizons. FD, there's no viable excuse you can offer so I'm just going to assume your marketing/sales department needs a total reboot or makeover (this is me being polite).

PS: And if you do happen to get off your duff and provide us with some more skins, try being reasonable and charging us $10 instead of gouging us with a $15 paint job. Funny that the Conda is "special" so the one crappy skin you provide is $15, but the Conda isn't special enough to merit more skins. Pretty pathetic to be honest.

Military, Vibrant, Tactical Conda packs are in 1.5.

The release is in 24 hours, the release is called "SHIPS".

Let just say your team is made of a junior designer and a senior designer, plus a third guy at a salary in between, you'd have to sell 1500 skins every month to break even.
I don't know how many skins FD sells every month, but I'm pretty sure they've done the maths already.

What I am wondering though will the Cutter and Corvette be another 2 Cinderella ships that may have to wait months for paint jobs.
Also if they do introduce paint jobs to those two will they be at a reasonable price in the shop.
Just because you can afford to buy a large ship in game like, the Anaconda for instance, doesn't mean you have tons of real money to splash about like the recent £10 on the gold Anaconda.
I would like to see some sort of parity on ship paint jobs when it comes to paying out real cash in the shop.
Taking the way they soak the Anaconda owners for a gold job while another gold for a smaller ship is half the price, then they would be trying to soak the owners of Corvettes and Cutters £15 for a similar type of paint job.
Happy enough to pay a higher in game price for large ships but its a bit rich to have to pay higher real cash for paint jobs in the shop.

Generally, I'd like to see Corp skins like Sirius Corp, Stellar Cartographics, Saud Kruger etc...

Yes, this, things that fit into the galaxy as well as pure cosmetics (I'd love to have a federation loyalist skin).

I saw a gorgeous greenish brown splatter striped FGS skin on an NPC last night, lost all my shields and half my hull in taking great care to 0 his power plant so I could take a good look at it. The skins are in the game, the money is in my pocket FD....give me the skins, I'll give you the money.
