Hardware & Technical X52 Pro Throttle "stiffness"

Had my X52 Pro for about 2 weeks now, very nice.

However there is one annoying aspect I cant find an answer for, I have the throttle control on the tension adjustment set at its lowest, however at the top/lower 25% mark there is an indent which you have to apply pressure to move the throttle. Any answer for this ?

It's the only thing I dislike about the X-52 Pro, I have no way of removing it but setting the throttle to its stiffest setting makes it less problematic.

also with the throttle in full range mode the detents (their proper name) stiffen the stick right in the blue zone. I find this very handy in dogfights as I can quickly go from full back to tight turn sweet spot without having to look at the throttle readout.

but if you still don't like it. it is fairly simple to stop it....if you don't mind a bit of screwdriver action. I found this thread on another forum with lots of nice pics on the process.

The link above is very good. I did this to remove the detent stops and it's changed the X52 pro from a good stick to a great stick for me.

Yeah, I made the throttle mod too, best decision ever.
Just remove all the screws in the base (two are hidden under the rubber feet) and pull the lump of greased plastic out. Makes the whole range as smooth as butter.

You cannot remove either the upper or lower detents. They have a purpose in Flight Sims. In a serious flight sim, you have off, idle, accelerate, and afterburner. You can program the throttle to enter afterburner when you go past the upper detent and you can program the throttle to cutoff when you pass the lower detent on the way down. Between the two detents you have your normal throttle action from idle to full throttle. Above the upper detent is afterburner, and below the lower detent is cut off. ED is not set up for this configuration so the detents have no function but since they are built into the mechanism of the throttle, there is no way to remove them. However, once the throttle is broken in, they should become less noticeable over time. :)
