Xbox: How to join Private Group?

I am trying to join the Cannon PG, playing ED on XBox.
I could not find a way to search for group, SOCIAL menu leads me to the UI where I can only filter/sort groups I am in (the same for friends).
How can I join the group I want?
The posts refer to "search by name" but where is UI for that?
XBox One, ED Horizons.

On PC there is a search box on the Social pages up in the top right hand side. Above the list
You have to know the exact spelling of the group/person you are looking for.

On xbox, If you want to get into someone else's Private Group, I think you need to get an invite from them.
(I'm not aware of an option to ask for an invite, but maybe something like that was added without me knowing about it.)

How about the squadrons? Cannot find "cannon" squadron either (on internal panel, in squadrons).
Am I supposed to get some kind of invitation to it too?

The Squadrons are all there, but it's a little tricky to get the search function to work in my experience. You have to have the exact spelling with correct spacing and correct upper and lower case letters, I think.

It might be easier to get an invite for that also, but I do think you might find it too.

Wow. What I can see that my spelling "Cannon" is always converted to uppercase "CANNON". That may be it.

Ah yes... Cheers.
It maybe that all the letters do get converted to upper case so that's not an issue.
I think more commonly the problem is having the entire full name of the squadron.

Ok... I found it on the frontier servers for the squadrons.
And I noticed that the Squadron names are listed on thier Inara page.

Try searching for Canonn
Maybe you just had the spelling off...
