xbox optimisation for pc.

Because we love this game. If we wouldn't, we couldn't care less whether or not they drive it into the ground. If you don't care about a game, you just move on. We however love Elite (or at least most do), which is why it hurts so much seeing FD make decisions, which make the game worse.

Pretty much how I feel too. The way things are going (at the moment) sadden me. I really want ED to take off and start to look and feel awesome.

At least they aren't supporting the XBOX360/PS3 that totally killed Battlefield for me.

FD have the sense to only support the new-gen consoles. Sure, they are still trailing in-specs consoles, but at least they aren't antiques.

An ED arena combat is only game mode that has any hope on the XBOX 1,console players just want pick a game and play, one recent review states that the control system needs to be made more accesable to console players,i fear the full PC version will be far to complex for the temprement of the average console player.

Listen up. My confidence with FD has waned. ED's development has become so bad that consoles now have priority. Those who pledged at alpha, premium beta, and beyond have been sorely ignored ... betrayed even: CQC should have been a PC/Mac first. I seriously doubt FD's honour regarding ED and its future, and I seriously doubt the expansion pass being honoured too. IMO, PP and CQC appear to be nails in the coffin of ED, and console optimisiation is redundant.

I truly hope you are never asked to serve jury duty with that level of emotive hyperbole in the face of nothing that serves as actual evidence.

Honestly I am lost for words at the amount of doom mongering and paranoia in this thread! Do people really think that ED would dumb down the graphics in the PC version to accommodate the XB1 port? I think what was meant was that to get the game working on XB1 they had to optimize the code, making it more efficient and that will be plugged into the PC build. That is a good thing, it does not mean they did it by "dumbing down the graphics"

The game has its issues at the moment, no denying but I am beginning to think that a lot of people in this thread priobably believe Elvis is alive and that the moon landings never happened.

I would usually agree with you. But screenshots and comparing some details show that the graphics has indeed been downgraded. This is not optimization, it is clearly making a game use less resources by lowering the quality.
Anyway PC players have the chance to be able to set different levels of quality. Why can't we have that?

Nobody disputes that the graphics have experienced a downgrade. What is disputed is whether this was a deliberate move. So far it appears that the quality settings adjustment has simply been broken, and that is unintentional.

Well, in the not-broken department, downgrade of cockpits lighting and definition as well as asteroid belts fog were a deliberate move, as FD stated themselves. There's no dispute about that, isn't it?

I don't think that they mean it to be a downgrade. They tried to fix some graphics issues. It has had unintended consequences in loss of quality. They are trying to address it. In due time they will.
