XboxOne VR HEADSET news!!!!

same here, though, i'd only buy it if Elite will support it. no other game is VR worthy..

Exactly my thinking too.
I'm quite hyped for the Scorpio though, more then for an eventual VR.
If ED will run with a higher fps and graphics close or on par with current high end pc's then the Scorpio is done deal for me, the kids can have the Xb1 then but the Scorpio will be mine!!!

There's still no info on the Scorpio's price but it won't exceed the price of a current high end pc I think.
We'll all see it at the next E3.

Wait until you see the Fallout 4 VR port that they're working on right now...

Then again, any 'cockpit' simulation will give a similar experience. Forza in 2018/2019 on Scorpio will very likely give a big 'oh wow' experience as well.

Elite is definitely a showcase, but it would be arrogant to assume that it's the only 'VR worthy' experience going.

I dont play other games. (mostly)

Ok, i should have said it differently.

Besides, i think VR in Fallout isn't for everyone.. All games where you not sit in a in-game chair and use VR, will be a very awkward experience.

well stick to the pc then its not that hard to make that decision. I'm sure people with more technical knowledge have seen it can work or it wouldn't be vaunted as the next thing coming out on the xbox

It already doesnt work. Even the virtual viewing environment needs a windows pc to run it on the current xb1. And VR needs 90 fps. 45 with ASW(which is garbage) People with "more technical knowledge" already know this. Which is why scorpio is a thing.

I disagree. Im a multi platformer in that I accounts fer both the bone and pc and Ive been a multi platform gamer fer decades...and I disagree. Im running the bone on a 55inch led...looks fine from my sofa with planetary landing being quite a sublime experience indeed.

Gfx are comparable with a decent mid range pc...I count anything below a grand as mid range and anything above that being a luxury, unless ye build yer own dedicated rig...which I do.

In saying that...I been using my xb account almost solidly since october last year simply because its easier to run on the bigger screen. I have an illness that makes sitting on an office chair quite difficult, and need something a lot more chilled out ^

Aparently you arent sensative to garbage framerates then. Just because you cant see it doesnt mean its not there. If you have the ability, try running your xb1 video output through your PC and test the framerate. You will see just how wrong your statement is.

P.s. i actually prefer consloe gaming. I am NOT a pc masterrace type of person. Im just telling it like it is

Ports & peripheral limitations notwithstanding -

Will the existing xbox one be able to produce live vr images? Yes.

Will the existing xbox one be able to produce live vr images, to the graphic fidelity standards expected from games & gamers? No.

Hence the scorpio.

This

It can already produce a virtual viewing environment but needs to have a windows 10 pc to run the headset. No games are playable in ACTUAL VR though. I dont think it will ever support "real gaming" in VR but it COULD probably support some "very basic" games in full VR

But....do you guys even realize that current VR headsets have pretty low resolution? Its a SIGNIFICANT drop in quality from watching the game on even a 1080p tv. Let alone 4k. And even that low resolution brings some seriously powerful PCs to their knees.

Dont take my word for it though. Go to the VR portion of this forum and everyone will tell you the same thing. But dont be surprised if you get laughed out of the room when you suggest the current xb1 will be fully VR capable

Its like every new product...awkward and impractical and expensive at the start...wait a few years before the current crop end up in car boot sales fer a tenner. Look at just about any other product...mobile phones in the beginning were the nokia brick...no internet access, no memory storage and expensive...and now? An alienware pc that cost 2grand 5 years ago...299 in the bargain basement corner today.

In time, it will become normal and prices will drop as quality goes up...its the way everything has worked ever ^
