Dear all

Can anybody help
Ive loaded the game into my new computer (which)meets all the specs.
On trying to run it I got the error message Xinput_1_3.dll file missing.
What should I do

I installed it for my brother last week and got the same error. You need to go to Microsoft.com and download directx 9c which fixed it for me. (His was also a new computer so no other games had previously installed the file - I think FD need to be aware of this, I will put a ticket in).

EDIT: beaten to the reply :)

Hi all
direct x and a restart seem to have done the trick thanks.

I started the training section shooting canisters but in setting the controls it has only giving me the mouse opltions and not my Thrustmaster joystick which is quite old but almost unused.
is that normal.?

Check in the options that it's been selected but it should autodetect.

Thanks everyone
The joystick is now working and I've moved from canisters to single combat. moving targets are tricky.
I may have to get a proper controller .
I may be a grown man but squeeeee.

Thanks again.

Stick with your joystick, I think you will find it easier. I use the TM HOTAS X and I think it is great for this game.

The combat tutorials use "fixed" weapons, i.e. they don't offer any kind of aim assist. When you have earned a few credits in game you can upgrade your weapons for "gimballed" versions which lock on to a target (sort of) if close enough to the cross hair so you don't have to have perfect aim. The downside is that they don't do as much damage per shot as the fixed versions but the plus side for me (who can't hit a barn door from 2 paces away) is that I get more shots on target.
