Yaw toggle

I am really enjoying this game. I loved the original elite when I was a kid, And i can't express how awesome it is to see this game grow up with me!

I am using an xbox controller and have a pretty good control setup that I like except for one thing. I'm currently using my left trigger hold for yaw, but what I would really like is the reverse, so that holding down the left trigger would switch yaw to roll. Is there any way to set this up?

Thanks,
Karl

You can set up your controller with custom bindings by using a program like glovepie to create a virtual joystick with fancy stuff like that.
The caviate is that it will require the ability to write simple scripts and a considerable time investment (I spend a couple days doing that kinda stuff for fun)

You shouldn't need any of that. Elite supports it out of the box. You can use one or more of the buttons as a "shift button" (you can't use it for anything else) and you can hit them both in the bindings menu to re-bind to that.

For example my hat buttons are thrusters, but I use them for Pips when I hold Button 8

I am currently using the "shift" button it hold mode to switch from roll to yaw mode. The problem it that there doesn't seem to be a way to do the opposite. I would like to have yaw mode on all the time and use the shift button to go into roll mode.

Im going to check out that glovepie program to see if that does the trick....
