Yeah, Spacewolf!

I guess I'm old now. In the last few years I've finally become (somewhat) proficient at using message boards for games, When I was a kid, the only people I had to talk about a game with were my friends, and the only way I could find any information about new games or tips about ones I was playing were magazines, nintendo power, anyone? Yeah... I had a subscription.

I guess I should try to keep up on reddit, but it's about all I can do just to check back on any threads I've posted on to see if someone quoted me *spoiler alert* They never do...

You can turn on notifications for responses to your comments. It took me a while to get to grips with reddit, but now i like it. The voting system is somewhat useful to filter out the useful comments, i.e highly upvoted or controversial posts.

Maybe I don't check plebbit because I'm a btard and so it's against my religion. Or maybe it's because the layout is designed by a blind person to be user friendly only to those who can code in FORTRAN.

Or perhaps it's both.

I read a book years ago about a guy who was president of the Outlaws MC. One bit that stuck with me was a description of Jan Michael Vincent in a loft, smoking crack with the beardy guy out of Grizzly Adams.

Don't think the author ever got sued either.

I can't remember the details (and don't want to go looking) but as I recall JMV didn't have a great life after Airwolf. I think he got a bit 'lost in Hollywood', went off the rails and never really recovered.

Yeah. Pity as well but I guess it just shows the toxic nature of tinseltown.

He was also somewhat jealous of the fact that Ernest Borgnine received more fan mail than he did!

(I know someone who was a freelance photographer, contracted to Universal Studios at the time. He's actually had a flight in it! Lucky [CENSORED])

Really? haha. Well, Ernest has been in a lot more stuff so should get more fan mail I guess.
Used to see a heli flying around Hereford quite a bit that looked a bit airwolfy. No guns or anything, just little wing things for the gear to vanish into.

Always assumed it was for the boys to get down to London quick.

Probably a Bell 222A. They're used by police forces quite a bit, I think.

Airwolf (in reality) was a modified 222A, dubbed a 222B (and the only one of its kind). As I recall, after the series ended it had all the fibreglass addons removed and it got sold as an air ambulance in Germany. Crashed during a storm.

Edit: correction, apparently it crashed in fog. Killed all three people on board.

They do use Agusta A109s for that, which has quite a Bell 222-like shape.

I am talking about the mid 80's just so ya know. Moved away in the late 90's.

Just had a look and it seems that the 22 boys captured a couple of 109's in the Falklands. Probably the one.

Did some googling and found the accident report: https://aviation-safety.net/wikibase/wiki.php?id=150981

and an article: http://www.check-six.com/Crash_Sites/Airwolf-DHHSD.htm

Three people died. Here's a pic of the aircraft in its Germany livery with registration D-HHSD
